Yeah I was joking, I have a few friends in service and I don't really ask about their kills. I don't mind them sharing stories though if they ever do. Pretty interesting.

Don't get me wrong, there are times when people need to stand up and fight for their rights and their families lives. If none of this is at risk, you're just being foolish.

It's true. The government cares about keeping you safe only so far as keeping you safe will help their cause. Your commander may think differently, and I hope he/she does, but just remember that what is in the "national interest" is decided by a few very stubborn, power-hungry rich people with everything to lose.
