creating a simple sun like the sun in overgrowth

Post by Re<<aL » Sat Sep 08, 2012 11:49 am

Hello, it's me again and i have another question :D

How can i do with opengl/GLSL a sun like the one in overgrowth. I mean, just a sphere that shines. I dont want it to move, change the color, etc.. Just know how to do it with opengl/GLSL a sun like that, i shearch in google but i couldnt find anything, nothing about gloss, a shininess sphere nothing!

So if someone can healp me... Thank you

Pd: Actually I'm using a directional light for simulating the sun, its better a point light?

David links to the paper he used for it and everything. It is a bit complex, but not impossible at all.

I think the sun's light is a directional light, but the sphere itself is probably done separately.

Thank you very much. I love u xDDDDDD

Pd. Skomakar'n i didnt said or wanted to said that the overgrowth sun is simple, i said or wanted to say  that i wanted to implement a simple sun (of course the sun in overgrowth isn't simple)
