Best Fighting/Action (but not shooter) Games You've Played

Post by tallyl.iii » Wed Nov 15, 2006 5:12 pm

I figured, since I'm a big fan of fighting games (not so much the one on one stuff), that I'd ask you guys what the best you've played were.

I know I'll think of more later, but at the moment Ninja Gaiden, Oni, and Lugaru are what first come to mind. Ninja Gaiden because it's incredible replay value (especially NG: Black) and amazingly fluid gameplay with as much variation in enemies and weapons as you could ever want. Oni's setting reminds me of Ghost in the shell and has a rock solid fighting system that integrates a shooting system (something rare in fighting games). Lugaru, because you could fight intuitively because of the physics system. When you wanted to take multiple people out, just hit 'em both rather than do some "special move."

I like tomb raider for the Hollywood Dungeons and the odd places for things, in other words the Puzzles that were hard to figure out at first.
its combat could be a little better. rather than just holding down a button and Jumping like a Maniac.

then I got an eMac and thought at first it sucked, but soon i found out all its wonderful things and how it should have been more of a games computer with better games. then i found Lugaru and i was like YA i don't have to play that Cheesy Game called WOW with Ridiculously Poor Models and heaps of stupid Imbeciles that Should not be on it creating a Shit load of lag. :x

Lugaru and Lugaru 2 are probably two of the best fighting games that exist (Even though Lugaru 2 isn't out yet, trust me, I know how good it is already)

Super Smash Bros. is definately another one of the best, and of course, Toribash is definately the best multiplayer fighting game I have ever played (It still would be if I ever manage to play/download any other multiplayer fighting game :P)

I'm sorry, but in my head when I read something I imagine someones saying it and the voice changed to make what you said sound, SOOO wrong!

Technically it is a shooter/fighter but I only use the fighter part.

Ninja Gaiden Black, all Super Smash Bros., Devil may Cry, Prince of Persia, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Bouncer!

Anyone remember The Bouncer for PS2?

Anyone remember Prince of persia 3D?
My Dad has a Copy of the game.
Low Poly Models, but they looked like some one spent time on making them look good, except for the fact the prince had a hollow nose. Combat was Much like the original (yep, played that one as well) except you could block to the Flanks. it had all the stuff i like, Frustrating traps that keep you stuck for a few hours. it has been a while since I have played it though.

I played the original prince of persia. You can get it at some freeware sites now.

I also played the more recent ones on ps2. They are good.
