Xbox 360)tallyl.iii wrote:I'm at $225 saved right now and debating between a Wii (which I might get for Xmas) and an Xbox 360.
pros: better graphics, extensive online features.
cons: higher cost, cost for online services ($50 a year or $4.10 a month)
game ratings: these are based on those found at metacritic.com
gears of war "94"
rainbow six vegas "89"
splinter cell double agent "85"
game styles: action, racing, and fighting. Not much creativity.
Wii)
pros: better gameplay, online features, mii channel's custom characters, your parents will actually play it with you, rumble feature, speaker in controller.
cons: graphics not as good as xb360
game ratings: these are still based on metacritic.com
Zelda: Twilight Princess "96" (Gears of War is pwned here!)
Madden NFl 07 "83"
Trauma Center: Second Opinion "83"
All those games are the highest rated right now.
I suggest the Wii.
Everyone get Smash Bros. Brawl! I will be online! Hooray for online smashing!

As soon as developers of Wii games actually know what they are doing and don't just port things over, we'll see some more creative games. Some of the more creative DS games are probably what creative Wii games will be like but with better graphics and a little more complexity.David wrote:I am not so sure about the 'creativity'; almost all of the games for Wii are sequels. I would say that the Wii has a more novel control system, but the games are not necessarily more creative.

Resistance is a good example of using it's processing power. But next year awaits multiple possiblities.David wrote:This is true for the other consoles as well to some extent; if PS3 and 360 developers actually start using that processing power in interesting ways, instead of just attempting greater and greater graphical realism, we will see some really interesting projects.

I'm back up to $230 after getting FFIII for the DS and I'm decidedly getting a Wii. The problem is I have to wait at a shipment at Gamestop (or EBG) because the majority of that is in credit. I really can't wait though. They say they get a shipment almost weekly around midday so I might get one fairly soon.[/quote]
