Kaiju Combat - another awesome game on kickstarter

Post by Macrauchenia » Mon Dec 10, 2012 10:15 pm

So there's 10 days left on the kickstarter for Kaiju Combat (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/142 ... ting-onlin), and it's getting pretty close to being funded.

It's a giant monster online fighting game. Originally intended to just be a sequel to the Godzilla fighting games, this time around they are collaborating with the community to implement custom and other licensed monsters.

Personally, this project piqued my interest because they've announced that Cthulhu and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man will be playable characters. My mind just explodes with awesomeness when I think of how incredible that battle would be.

Check it out, and stay tuned for an Overgrowth map inspired by the genre.

Think Rampage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rampage_%28video_game%29) mixed with your traditional fighting game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighting_game).

It would be 1v1, or 2v2 (I actually think they've announced 3v1 game modes as well), where each player controls a giant monster that has their own health/special meter. Each monster would have the same base attacks; punch, kick, but different combinations of the directional pad and attack buttons would trigger character-unique special attacks and such. The battle would end when the opposing team's monster's health reaches 0, which at that point there might be some awesome finishing moves...

These battles would take place inside a city, so you'll be able to knock over buildings and generally destroy the landscape in the process of fighting each other.
