japan notes (with pictures now)

this is a placeholder for me, so i can take notes about my japan trip. when i get back maybe i will make a real write up with pictures and stuff

day 1/2

ridiculously narrow roads
thin cars, box cars, thin giant cars, tonka trucks
excellent reality tv shows (cardboard construction race)
naruto on day 1
cool decorated elevators
mirrors everywhere
i am a giant
there are NO OTHER WHITE PEOPLE
vending machines everywhere
no questions at customs
racist / inferiority complex
people are extremely fashionable
very liberal about fashion, very diverse
school uniforms everywhere
omfg amazing electric toilets (but bad first experience... anally violated)
really cool shower
long toilet paper
futons own
cool commercials (short, crazy, some racist)
cottage cheese is really rare
nudity in mainstream media is ok?
lots of old people
mothers eat food right out of their babies mouths.. wtf
i can not read anything
people are extremely polite

day 3

i know what kawaii means.. but i pretend not to

no id check
humid
chivalry does not exist
naruto sound track is not unique?
playboy?? why do 10 year olds have playboy bunnies on their tshirts?
giant crosswalks
makeup
polite
cellphones are not small
everyone text messages on cellphones, even when riding a bike
really crowded, quiet subways
engrish
manga is prominent
say name instead of i

so many coins it`s ridiculous
automatic doors only open when you are inches away

send email
army trucks/planes
so many cool snacks
excellent food. rice burgers, teriyaki, etc. very true to the pictures

pachinko
funny way to turn prizes into money
wtf! toilets built on the floor
tons of temples/shrines
excellent temple on the beach + cave
fireflies

met "jeff rose"... you will not believe this story, but i have witnesses and photos
fireworks

yakuza
hair

weird people... i was almost on tv

Don't forget about the electric toilets. In japan a toilet can clean by its self.

Those things are like a toilet with a built in bidet. That's so you don't actually have to use toilet paper. It's like... an external enema.
Also the USS Enterprise's ultimate weapon, as it instantly rids the dark crevices of space from Klingons. *cough*
