Your favourite Horror games

Post by droog » Sat Apr 13, 2013 9:53 am

Hi there,
while I am waiting for Amnesia A Machine for Pigs I want to play other horror games as a filler. :D

Any suggestions for a good horror game?

I already played:
-Amnesia The Dark Descent + Justine | The best survival horror game out there (in my opinion)
-Penumbra Overture + Black Plague
-Dead Space <- don't like the series
-Slender Eight Pages + Arrival
-SCP-87 + Containment Breach
-Fibrillation
-F.E.A.R

I'm waiting for:
-Amnesia A Machine for Pigs
-Among the Sleep (looks like a great survival horror game, where you play as a two-year old child)
-Outlast

Ah and I don't like third person horror games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Don't know why but horror games in third person doesn't work for me.

Exactly, that's why I wrote "I don't like the series".

F.E.A.R. 1 has pretty scary moments, some of them might be considered "jump scares" but it also has fantastic atmosphere and ambiance.

Oh yeah, forgot about F.E.A.R. I played it a few years ago, at that time it was a great game, but I think if I would play it today it wouldn't thrill me.

Also added fibrillation to my "already played" list. Nice but short Indie horror game.

Oh god, Irisu Syndrome. It's probably one of the most scariest horror games I've ever experienced.
And I agree about the Dead Space stuff, it's more bloody and gross then scary. Least scariest game I've ever played. But seriously...

What is this? :D looks really weird. A anime-horror-puzzle game? The screams from the girl freaked me out.
Horror fans should take a look at "outlast" which is set for summer 2013. Not an original setting but the trailer looks creepy.

For a indie game it has really good graphics.

Among the Sleep's Kickstarter campaign started today:

One of my most anticipated games of 2013.
I have no credit card and unfortunately kickstarter doesn't accept PayPal as payment method. :(

Yeah, I haven't found a creepier game than ATDD + Justine Addon (and I really tried  )
Maybe Among the Sleep or Outlast could make it. We will see.
