My Indie Game - Fimbulvetr: War of the Great Winter (re)
Update - New Art video:
http://youtu.be/Xh65UJSudLI
Hello everyone! It's been a long while.
I'm just now getting back into potentially being able to work on my game Fimbulvetr. To celebrate the occasion, I've made a new video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5Y8WgWDC1k
Although the video doesn't show a lot of new content, it serves as a concise explanation of the game, something I've yet to create before this.
To those who haven't seen it before, Fimbulvetr is a combination between a fighting game and an RTS game, which features armies of anthropomorphic animal characters at war. The intent is to tie both game modes closely together in an interesting and meaningful way.
I'm really happy to be going back to working on it soon, and I hope I can reach a wide audience with news of this game and its development. To everyone so inclined - spread the word. I truly, greatly appreciate it!
As always, comments and criticisms of all sorts are welcome - just remember the "work-in-progress" disclaimer.

Many a moon I've awaited thine return. At long last, my patience has been reciprocated in the fruition of my dreams. My dedication to return to thee, m'lord, as thine most faithful liege is nigh upon unimaginable.
Three cheers for the returned champion!

Dude, this is such an interesting concept! I love it!
Like you said though, it really needs better art. First impressions are real important, and the assets don't make a good appearance at first glance.
But must say... Wow, this looks like so much fun, a cool RTS mechanic with some deep SSB-like fights, you got me real interested in this project!

A little premature, since I haven't been able to make a video of it yet, but I'm really excited at how some of the new art assets are turning out.
Here you can see the new Forest scene, along with the new hare sprites. The scene has parallax-scrolling, and the character has full walk and run cycles, so it looks even better in motion. I hope to make a video showing off some of the details in the next few days.

Thanks, man! I really appreciate your support! Keep spreading the word and help me reach a bigger audienceRetarded Username wrote:Dude, this is such an interesting concept! I love it!
