I understand a lot of people have played Dawn of war and all that.
But who collects the Warhammer 40000 models?
I use to, and would still if I had the money.

I remember playing the 80s version of of D&D basic. :)
Oh those were the days. :(

Now I have Warhammer :D
But I cant aford it

(L2, Don't fail me now!)

My old friend Ricky use to play LOTR.
the Rules for LOTR was good for small battles, but big Wars like Warhammer and Warhammer 40000 played with LOTR's Rules were Just like, Well ill say this. Take your turn tomorrow, I have too many Orcs and you have too many Riders of Rohon.

40k was good. it is like the WWII battle tactics, but it Promotes Close combat fighting. Normally in RL wars, if you get squadron fighting Squadron in a Brawl, thats means you need to rethink your battle plan.

If i go back to Collecting, I am getting Eldar or Dark Eldar. Dark Eldar because I like Evil things and The models Look cool. and Eldar because I Like playing the greater good, and they have just come out with new Uba models.

I used to collect, but I realised I liked messing around and fighting with the little guys instead of making and painting them. I might start again though, for the emporer!

For The Adeptdus Mechanicus, the Emperor, and Imperium of Man!

I was more the painter type. I sucked at the game, Loved it, but I was always pwnd. I think it was Young age, Lack of faith in myself, Bad Dice, and What I collected.

I use to have an Army list of about 1000 points of Space Marines, Oh yea... I could not afford the New Codex.

and mind you I was fighting one marine for every five Imperial guards.
15 points for a marine with standard stuff and something like 3-5 points for one Human with a Flashlight (las gun, I use to say my marines were Vulnerable to epileptic fits), I had no tanks or heavy weapons (bad choice fighting Imperial guard)

9 time out of 10 I was pwnd. Some battles i could not be stuffed sitting out because its, move. wait 3 hours, removing casualties, and then moving. I hate the Basilisk cannon. I also hate flamers of any kind.

I did enjoy seeing my mates Kenny and Lu Battle it out, Steal Legion, vs Cadians.

I played 40k, I stoped last summer when I stoped being quite as reclusive, but now that I am becoming more reclusive again...

I was also the painterly type and a player of marines...

makes me remember the time my assult squad was with in range of my friends broadside with their bolt pistols... five of them managed to wound the damn thing... then my friend tells my its got two wounds... man i was pissed... any how in the maybe twenty or so games i played with my marines i lost once... and that was my first game.
but I have never won a game of warhammer fantasy so it all evens out.

What was Harlequins like?

Battle Fleet gothic, Warhammer 40000 Epic, and inquisitor, blood bowl and the rest of the specialist games are not available in New Zealand...

Harlequins were really cool. You used to be able to have a whole army for them, not like now, and you could equip them all how you wanted. Basically you had very few really high pointed close combat troops, and independent characters.

thats a shame about the specialist games. The only one I ever played was mordheim, and it was a lot of fun. I also hear Inquisitor is really good if you have a good group to play it with, and if you want to buy the stuff.

Scavin!
I remember one of the guys at my hobby shop had a mother load of those, they were all all made up with static grass for fur!
Not a pretty sight!

my friend's little bro played skavin... its humiliating to get beaten by your friends little brother, especially if he's eleven.

they're kinda cheap though. they can fire their cannons into melees in which they are participating in.
