Sudden surge of spam
Re: Sudden surge of spam
I think we should stop banning the bots by ip, they are using proxy and i have seen several cases of random new people getting banned for no good reason.

I thought we were only banning by name so that wouldn't happen.

Re: Sudden surge of spam
Right now my system is ban spammers by name if they've posted something dumb or have spam links in their profile, and then move some of their threads to the GAEM thread because they fit there.

Re: Sudden surge of spam
I just disapprove of all their posts.
I honestly don't know how to ban people (If I even can.)

Because the spam bots are using proxies there have been complaints on Twitter about people getting their accounts locked.Freshbite wrote:I am banning by IP. So there have been made mistakes?

Re: Sudden surge of spam
Well, I'll stop IP-banning for now. If the people really want their accounts back they could contact the Wolfire team by mail.
Re: Sudden surge of spam
I just disapproved aproximately 1 TON of spam.
Now i'll eat something because i'm hungry. Disapproving spam makes me hungry.

It certainly had me worried for a second.
But then four later I was here and forgot about it till you mentioned it.
I saw something about 'DDOS' on that screen.
Oh, Akazi threw me a screenshot without either of us noticing: I should check IRC more vigilantly.
But yes, there it is. What is it?
