What people belive is true on these forums

Post by Colicedus » Fri Dec 29, 2006 7:58 pm

It would be interesting to know what path people follow on these forums.
When i say this, I don't mean what path you follow because your fokes make you go to the Temple/Church/Mosque/Grove/Hounfour/Apple Store(could not Resist the joke, but what Computer you use dose not count)

Rules with this Thread.

Do not Flame other peoples beliefs.
If you disagree with something and something must be said, Just imagine your saying it to Duke Nukem. (in other words, you treat everyone with respect, I will have to watch myself too, I have been known to be Insensitive)

Ill start.

I believe that people should be given a fair chance. the necessities to live, and to work together, but also have room to grow.
I believe In taking what you need and not to greed.
I believe Treating others with Mutual respect, and Helping those in need, and when I cant help them, Stick with them for reassurance.

I swear my Loyalty to one deity and that is myself, I am the most important thing to myself.

I am in a way, a Humanitarian Blasphemer.

Does this include religions other than Christisatany and all the other major religions? (Not really meant to offend christians, it's really just what it and other religions tend to be at times)

Well, I believe that believing is creation. Gods exist, as they were created by someone believing in them. No god "Does not exist" unless nobody believes in it. Wars were originally started by people who hated other people for believing in something they didn't believe existed. Proof only brings something into everyday existence. Seeing is not believing, seeing is proof.

Believing is the root of all evil, for believing created evil itself.

But why does it matter what the root of all evil is? Evil exists only in the mind. One can fight for the good of himself, but the evil of another.

That's part of the holy bible of me.

I believe god does not exist. I think your religion just imploded.

Just believing something doesn't exist doesn't mean it doesn't exist, belief doesn't destroy things like that, disbelief does. And even so, only until nobody in the universe believes in something will it be destroyed.

What is the difference between "every day existence" and existence?

I didn't quite define that quite right, mainly as I'm trying to interpret my beliefs into text.

What I meant was existence on the physical plane. Existence is just existence. Gods (At least from the believer's point of view) tend to exist partially in the physical plane and partially in the spiritual plane.

So you believe that Believing created the gods and you believe in duality?
Interesting.

You sound like a talk show host now… :P

And to be honest, my beliefs aren't really that vivid, as they're more a part of me than my mind.

I also believe in life after death and karma. I also think that heaven and hell are both rather bad places to be, as you can't get out of them once you're in them.

But yeah, enough of me for now.

Colicedus: Thumbs up on making what I hope will be an interesting thread :)

I'll start with something easy to recognise.

I'm an Atheist.

I'm a Socialist.

I believe that belief is the single most powerful and dangerous part of the human psyche.

I believe in free-will, but that we are slaves to our past, our culture our upbringing. This does NOT mean i think that people *can't* change the way they act or think. It just means I think they *won't*.

Good, Evil, Gods, Faeries and Santa are all dreams. I don't think that they are harmful or beneficial in themselves.

Good and evil were created by belief, residing in the mental plane.

Faeries or however you want to spell them were created by belief, residing in the spiritual plane, perhaps with shadow-selves in the physical plane like mostly everything else in the spiritual plane.

The same applies to Santa.

What is true to me? Well established, repeatable scientific phenomena and the ever evolving, educated corollaries from these scientific observations.

Anything outside of this is garbage as far as I am concerned. When someone makes supernatural assertions like the existence of the Christian god, the burden of proof is on them. Why people create these elaborate fictions and choose to believe them irrationally (BunnyWithStick's physical planes and spiritual planes, for instance) is beyond me.
