Ranting

Post by invertin » Sat Dec 30, 2006 6:39 am

Here is a topic where you can blow off steam. Complain about anything, just don't reply to anything you find offensive or something like that, I don't want any flaming in here.

Edit1: I'm gonna rant for abit, FPSs, while I like blowing things into tiny little bits, lately all FPSs are trying to be realistic. Why? Quake 3 was one of my favoroute FPSs ever and rocket launchers were standard issue! Nowadays you need to be stealthy in an FPSs because if you don't you get shredded into tiny little pieces, by even smaller pieces of metal! And another thing, graphics, while I like it when games look real, lately the graphics are what makes up a game! My friend wouldn't play Super mario brothers because it had bad graphics!... Ok I'm done for now.

Unfortunately, I have yet to see an FPS that involves stealth, but the only ones I've ever played are sauerbraten, cube and black shades, and SOS. (Which uses a stealth incorporating engine, yet never seems to let you be stealthy…)

I totally agree. Quake 3 was my favorite game for a long time... Sadly Quake 4 and Doom 3 were total misses in my opinion. Unreal Tournament is always pretty good though and has been a reasonable replacement, although I will always miss Quake's feel.

To me, at least, Quake 4 seemed like Doom 3 with slightly better multiplayer.

Have you played Call of Duty 2? From what I've heard (which is just 1 video reveiw  ) Call of Duty 2 is not focused on being realistic, I quote Blake Buck, Boss Hog, or Buck Naked (whatever you prefer to call him)

"The game plays more like a Hollywood Block Buster then a WW II simulation. Buildings explode when you run by them, you can take dozens of bullets and still keep moving. In fact Call of Duty has a new health system, instead of having to find the all important health pack to the FPS genre, if you have lost health you can get behind some cover and your health quickly regenrates.. Y'know, just like Halo. Did I mention how innovative this game is? While Call of Duty 2 has good graghics and gameplay the game suffers from an amazingly high DNPM. That's, Dead Nazis Per Minute..."

Now for my complaint: Hollywood sucks.. Lately I have not seen any good movies come out other then Casino Royale. All the Christmas movies got really bad reveiws and in the case of "Black X-mas" was even violent. I went to see Eragon on Friday. God, that is the worst movie I have ever seen. Through out the whole movie you're either left going "Wait.. What, what just happened?" or cringing at the terrible dialogue. So it seems that almost every movie coming out sucks, except for a select few.

This happened on the 27th.
I got back from visiting my parents and after checking out my acounts and making sure I had enough money to pay bills and buy food, I decided to buy an Xbox 360 and "Gears of War" (About $499 total...) using some of my extra Xmas money. I even got some special deal where I got "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" and a 1-year warranty for no extra cost. Sometime in the late evening I get an angry call from my mother saying that my relatives didn't give me money for Christmas so I could buy "children's toys" (Most of the cards said: "Buy something fun with the money.") and that I'm being "immature" by spending money on things other than school and bills (her words not mine...). She then says that if I don't return or sell the Xbox 360, she's going to get me kicked out of the house (Which she can do since I won't be there to defend my position...) that I'm living in...I mean, I know she hates video games with a vengeance...but this is going to far. So I've started looking into apartments...
Oh and I've been "given up" on now...so they're gonna try to kick me out of my own house anyway...ROFL

Whoa, as long as your not spending it on drugs or something like that I wouldn't think it would be any of her business on what you spend your money on.

I hate people who find everything offensive.
"that song offends my religion by mentiuoning jesus!"
"That holiday offends me by mentioning jesus!" (Christmas)
"That bread offends me because it's edible!"
Look, I understand your religion is important to you, but frankly, it's not my religion. If you pay attention, nowhere does it say, in any of the school plays, or songs, that any of this is real. Just the bible, which if you're not christain shouldn't be reading anyway. I think, someone should hurry up and make a super religion, something everyone can relate to and worship without complaining about it iffending their religion, some kind of "everybodies right" religion! Jesus was born, but muhammed was a prophet of god too, and Allah and god, and buddah, and all the rest are one person! But then, of course in the current way of human thought, someone has to be offended. Face it, only one religion is right, and until the apocalypse happens, no-one will know. So shut up, forget how different Jesus is from buddah, and wait till you all die, then we'll see who's right.

Thank you and goodnight.

Sorry, but your mom falls into one of the categories of people I hate with a passion.

Religion is like opium...
Opium is like, the opium of the masses.

I generally don't Hate Christianity, I have a mutual respect for people believing what they want to...
But since the past few days I have met people who CLAME to be Christians, and they break allot of rules in the bible. and another thing that gets on my nerves is how they trash talk other faiths and go on about how they are gonna save the world.

I admit that there May have been a Jesus, I know well that Atlantis Could have existed and there was a Great Flood because of how many documents it has been recorded in...

((I kinda wanna say this in the story Noah's ark "so your gonna make it rain for 40 days and nights in the hopes that the sewerage backs up? hehe, fat chance"))
