Aw man, I was hoping someone would try this...
Well, I was trying something: to find a video of a guy from the Purdue Engineering Dept. who set the world record for getting a barbecue up to operating temp: 3 seconds.

How'd he do it? By putting 60 pounds of charcoal on top of of one glowing coal, then using two ten foot two-by-fours as tongs to dump 3 gallons of LOX onto the charcoal. Result: 10,000 degree fireball, and a perfect bed of coals.

Unfortunately, the grill melted.

So, this cool video has been on the 'net for years, and now it's gone! Why? 'Cuz the friggin' 'net nannies decided it was too dangerous to let us see it! We might try it ourselves, and get all blowed up into little bitty pieces!

Well, so what? It woulda been worth it. And now I'm sad, 'cuz I can't share, and it was cool, and I don't have a sad turnercon to show how sad I am. So I'm goin' to bed to pout, and think hateful thoughts.

Good night.

How do you know he can read?

Did you read it in the bible? Huh?! Didja?1!? I didn't think so.

Maybe he's just got faith! That prolly never even occurred to you, did it?

Not everybody believes in worshipping the devil, you know! They don't need to make use of evil techniques like this so-called "reading!" Some people just have so much faith that they know things and stuff!

And how do they know these things: 'CUZ THEY GOT FAITH!

Plus somebody told 'em.

This must be Usagi's time of the month when he goes completely batsh** crazy. The only way to snap him out of it is to sing while standing in a tea box, then you have to drop a jet engine onto his house.

Or just slap him round the face, that normally works for me.

this topic has migrated

the games I really enjoy and/or think are unique are:

The Avernum series: an absolutely wonderful series. I have never beaten any of them, but they have some of the best stories I have ever experienced in my video-gaming.

The Geneforge series: another great series by Spiderweb Software, I haven't beaten any of these either, but I have put many many hours into several of them.

Angband: it's a great game with the worst graphics ever, and I do mean it.

Giants citizen kabuto: it could get a bit tedious for some, with all the traveling, but still it's a fun game.

Unreal Tournament2k4: its fun and violent.

Halo: I find it fun and the story line is generally compelling. It also has lots of reminders of the old marathon trilogy... I hope the remake those with better graphics some day.

Nah, it's just for laughs.

I wouldn't consider being called batshit crazy an insult; at least, not on this forum.

Other original games in a class of their own:
Bullet Witch for the Xbox 360.
Bullet Witch takes the tried-and-true 3rd person shooter genre...and then elopes with it.

Story:
None really...you're a curvacious, sex-object armed with magical powers and a giant transforming gun that's in the shape of a witch's broom. You're objective is to kill demons and save what's left of the human race.

What make's it a great game fittiing of the thread topic:
The game takes a rather beaten-down genre and then livens it up and makes it fun again. Sure, the game is simple...you shoot everything that moves and dodge like mad...Sure, the game isn't the prettiest game on the 360...But what makes this game great is the atmosphere (the amount of detail in the scenery is great), the gameplay (Almost everything in the game is desctructible...and the physics engine rocks...plus, using the enviroment to kill people is great...)...and I mean come on...it's a babe wielding a giant broomstick-gun-thing...

I am not a fan of Bullet Witch. It takes the tried-and-true 3rd person shooter genre (HAAHAHAHAHAHA) and totally screws it over. Spells are annoying and clunky to execute. The camera is bleh. Collision detection is horrid and the AI makes me want to smash my face with a brick. The only thing it has going for it is a sexy protagonist and gameplay that's fun for a few minutes before you throw the controller across the room out of frustration. It doesn't even have good eye candy.

Dead or Alive 4. Now there's a great game.

I like Resident Evil 4, that was an awesome 3rd person shooter. Not only that, but it changed Resident Evil's stupid camera placement settings (IE, camera is placed down a long hallway for the sole purpose of having a dog jump through the window and freak you out) and along with the cluncky controls, fighting enemies was just too difficult and the game was actually made for you to run away from most fights. But the aiming in RE4 is so awesome to do, everything has a laser sight so you have to eyeball all your shots without a crosshair, but the camera comes in close behind your head for you to aim.

And not only is it really fun to kill everything in RE4, it's a survival game too so you have to buy your weapons, buy weapon upgrades, and sell items, and search people's houses for stuff too (the Ganados hang a decorative shotgun in their house, you can take it and keep it as a weapon).

Man and the cutscenes, they're actually fun to watch because they're action shots and you have to do what they tell you as they play. There's a conversation with knives and while you guys are talking he'll come at you and you have to pay attention to survive each attack. It's simple but really cool.

But this is a popular game and they've already started on the sequel RE5, so... I guess this is a game that is here.

But this is what Resident evil 4 WOULD have been. Totally lame.

Finally, there's a believable next-gen skateboarding game! I'm satisfied. Check it out. The game is called Skate. It's from EA Black Box, but they seem to be doing a better job than usual this time.
