I knew that investors were overreacting when BP tanked, but I didn't put my money where my mouth is.

Their stock basically bounced up immediately afterward.

I'm using more engineering knowledge designing a pair of wooden headphones than I do at work

I also did some stress calculations. I should be able to put 50lbs force on this thing without it breaking.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get the fit just right.

I don't want it to be adjustable, but I find it somewhat difficult to measure my own head

The rectangles around the band up there is the pieces of wood i plan to make it out of. The band will be made up of 5 2" by 2" by ____ pieces that are tongue lapped together.

This is just for patterning purposes when I cut them out in my scroll saw.

Also I bought some anodized aluminum and some quality 2" by 2" wood.

This shit is gonna rule.

Seriously, I fuckin' hate plastic. It's cheap and fragile. Wood and metal is where it's at.
And can you make it so the wires are the kind that don't have the piss-me-off white insulation shit inside? I can't splice that shit when my cat chews up the cord!

Thats pretty much why im making them.

After breaking the 10th pair of headphones in my life, I decided I want a pair of headphones I could use to beat someone to death.

I actually made some out of really thick wire that lasted an amazingly long time because they were very rigid, but they were uncomfortable for long periods of time.

So I wanted to make something with fuckin' style.
