Re: randomness
The similarities are unfathomable.
Re: randomness
Any way, I haven't praised Steven Universe recently. It's a great show! Amazingly well written, for one, and not afraid to handle adult fears and problems and issues in a way that's likely to go over kids' head.
For example, the dance moves are, at times, definitely referencing something more than just dancing. It's funny because the kids just won't get it, exactly like the main character.
There's child-parent relationships are handled in so many different ways through Steven and his various friends. There's friendship issues, there's trust issues. There's a constant, consistent goal of showing strong women doing things. The show has the three mother-figures freak out at things the viewer doesn't understand because it hasn't been shown, which in hindsight is how all parental fears look like to a kid, who won't understand the adult world very well at all.
Okay, so this is all handled, but the best thing about the show? You can just watch it and have fun, because that's all written in, all shown, but it's on the sidelines, on the background! It's a show about a kid's antics, and about a magical world, and perhaps the kid saving the world. It's fun first and foremost, but also so much more besides.
I mean, there's this short scene of a DJ at work, and his controllers are GameBoys just for the heck of it! The show is awesome.

Re: randomness
You mentioned a DJ in that cartoon using video game consoles to make music and immediately thought of Anamanaguchi.
Re: randomness
Oooh, I see! I'm suddenly a bit more interested. More than a bit. 8 bits.

FemFreq writer has praised places that banned video games that are considered sexist.Endoperez wrote:4:20: "It actually works to potentially reinforce some pretty harmful messages about video games."
That's about as harsh as she goes.
Anita has made similar arguments that Jack Thompson has made.
No way of denying it. Anita has said similar things that Jack Thompson said, just for a different cause.
Jack Thompson was unarguably better.
False. He thought that games should be banned from people less then 18. Especially violent ones. He was not immune to criticism and when proven wrong he fucked off.Jack Thompson thought game devs are criminals for releasing violent games.
Anita has been proven wrong a million times by a million different people. She's still here.
Nope. She wants all games her way. You can twist it how you please, but it doesn't change the fact she wants power and money in the industry. She's a zealot.Anita Sarkeesian thinks game devs should consider her arguments when making games.
"ZEAL AND FURY ARE REWARDED WITH VICTORY"
- Anita Sarkeesian 2015.
Anita.Even if all of their arguments were 100% wrong, one would've been trying to destroy a thing he doesn't like or understand,
Thompson.other would've been trying to change a thing she knows about and tries to understand.

Gaming has reached a new low.
As if people saying Twine wasn't the future of gaming wasn't enough.

Re: randomness
I wouldn't worry about This World of Mine being the "future of gaming". There will be some clones, but I highly doubt all games in the future will be like it.

Of course they won't all be like that.Grayswandir wrote:I wouldn't worry about This World of Mine being the "future of gaming". There will be some clones, but I highly doubt all games in the future will be like it.
BTW, anyone else participating on global game jam this weekend?
