Hey what do you guys think of the following,
I want get a macbook pro so when i'm not home i can still work on stuff.
My dad said how about you give your imac to your sister and you buy a macbook pro but i want to keep my little imac collection (3 plus a mac pro (ppc)) and it's still a good mac.
So what do you guys think keep the imac and see how i will get a macbook pro or give the imac to my sister who won't do a thing on it (she has an apple cube and 2 apple macbooks (all are ppc)).

And don't tell me apple sucks and it's over-expensive and i shoul buy a windows pc because it can do things as good as a mac can. I'm raised with macs so deal with it.

Hahaha!

My imac is from mid 2007 and the macbook would be from 2010 or 2011 i'm not sure.
So the difference between 2007 and 2010 or 2011 is the parts used

From the sounds of it you've already made up your mind. So you might as well keep your iMac and get a new Macbook Pro. Honestly though, if you're going to buy an Apple, you might as well go all out anyway and get the Mac Pro.

i got a mac pro (ppc so it isn't supporting much programs anymore) but i though of a macbook pro so if i wasn't home i still could do school stuff or modeling or programming. and i will get a macbook pro for my birthday so everything is fine (a mac pro is something i want in the future tough).

I've got one of the very first intel Mac Pro models myself, and it's still quite capable of running a lot of modern high-end games at satisfying speeds despite being positively ancient for a computer
I don't recall its precise year of construction. Early 2000s, anyway. 2001? 2003? Even if it's 2015, that's a ten-year-old machine.
My Macbook Pro is significantly less old (Mid 2010) but also significantly less powerful, experiencing heat-up* and jitters when trying things like TF2 and Portal2. I haven't tried Overgrowth on it since the early alphas where one drop of mobile blood on-screen meant a drop to 2 fps, but maybe I should, since that's been solved already.

Er, I'm rambling.
Point of the matter is: Mac Pro. Can recommend. It lasts.

*Heat-ups that may or may not be assisted by the lovely leather case my laptop never leaves though.. I haven't run any experiments on the case's influence on circulation. That would require taking the laptop out of the case.
