Transition operation would be a super special day though.

Has anyone read any Alastair Reynolds? I'm reading Blue Remembered Earth. I like the afrofuturistic angle. And the cynical optimism. It's basically presenting something very close to a utopia-on-Earth, assuming humans will still be jerks even when criminality is surgically prevented which obviously is problematic on its own.
The thing is, it assumes we have to sort out our current crap first. It's set on Africa, wealthy Africa outgrowing the old economic powers of China and India. No starvation or poverty, society preserving nature & wildlife, colonies on the moon & Mars... A past of wars, climate change, mass relocation, lack of resources... It's set around year 2200 and it seems it's decades out of a dystopia. Cynical optimism, as I said - "if all goes perfectly, we might not be screwed as soon as 200 years from now!"

Dangit, I was going to guess 'First transgender operation day'. I should've played the statistics.
Maybe it was that too, some birthdays are more special than others.

Congrats Roeje25, for managing to not die for 5,478 days.

You know, for all the shit feminist discussion gets... the randomness thread is a little more active when that shit happens.

Just an observation.

Edit: Thread, I can English dammit.

The forums have gotten a little more active recently as a whole. I don't think it has anything to do with your discussion.

The randomness thread wasn't very active beforehand. It got a post a week at best.

The rest of the forums were more active, but they had shit to talk about.

Sooo...
I'm just gonna accept that this thread will literally last until Wolfire Forums just doesn't have any more users.
Long live the randomness thread.

I'm starting to wonder how people will react when someone approves spam in this thread accidentally

By removing it and banning it by hand after two or three 'OMG SPAM' posts.
I've seen it happen at least twice before.

Let's try not to make extra work for Gray.
