So, for less than what Microsoft charges just to play online multiplayer, Playstation Plus- a completely optional premium service- is now offering downloadable AAA titles.

I'm fascinated by how Micro still gets away with having the *only* pay-to-play multiplayer.

According to most people I ask, it's because it has "better" online. It really doesn't, they are the exact same, but more people have an xbox, probably because the ps3 was so expensive at first. If those people had bought the ps3 even when it was at $600, they would have saved money in the long run for a much more powerful and reliable product. Speaking of saving money and reliability, I don't know any xbox owner who hasn't had at least one RROD, and I know a lot of people who own xboxs. Only about 2% of ps3 owners get the YLOD(Yellow Light of Death).

Anything free-to-play usually has horrible horrible user base.
Also, PSN doesn't charge, and look what happened.
BAM!
Massive security leak.

PSN doesn't have a horrible user base, and the fact that it's free to play has nothing to do with the user base, it's the quality, and PSN is just as good as Xbox Live.

Also, I doubt the fact that they don't charge has to do with the security leak, since the attackers wanted money. Xbox has a larger user base where EVERYONE who plays online has to pay, so the hackers could make a lot more money. Microsoft is just a much bigger company, so they probably have better security.
So in the end, one security leak, which didn't affect me or anyone I know, and got us each at least two free games(depending on how many free PSN accounts we have) and a month of Playstation Plus free, vs everyone I know with an xbox having to buy multiple consoles(which are significantly worse tech wise) and pay $50 a year just to play online. The only better thing about the Xbox is larger user base, which is probably just because it was cheaper at first, and Microsoft has more money for marketing.

Blah, blah, blah. Pointless debate that has been going for too long and bores the hell out of me. On a completely unrelated note, anybody else watch man v food? That show's brilliant

With enough effort, any cyber-security can be broken through. That includes the government's. The fact that those hackers picked PSN over Live or Steam or any other service hasn't a thing to do with the fact that PSN is free :P

I don't know why, but I'm infinitely amused by this.

Wait, they have a show called man v food? Is it a survival show where any food he finds attacks him? That sounds awesome.

That looks scary. I want to watch this show.

EDIT:

Amnesia is my new favorite game. A monster guy was looking for me, but i was stuck in a bright room, so I crouch in a corner and hold a big painting in front of me. He literally walked into the painting twice, but didn't see me. It was both terrifying and hilarious.

Speaking about BP ... I really should have bought stock after that fiasco.

I would have doubled my money in 6 months. :/
