Re: randomness
Disregarding the coherence of someone's arguments in order to make it easier for you to argue against it is not a method of arguing. It's a fallacy.Phoenixwarrior141 wrote:Did you ignore my method of arguing for the past few years or did you just forget all of a sudden?Endoperez wrote:You divided my coherent points into single sentences and tackled each individually,
It's how I argue things, it's a force of habit really. It generally works in my favor though, so I'm sticking with it because I take no time to proofread anything.
I seriously hope you go to college one day and try to use this "method" in a paper or or essay. Your instructor will rip you to shreds. I've only seen this happen twice so far, but every single time was really entertaining. Probably not for the poor bastards who somehow managed to enter university without any knowledge of how to construct an argument, but definitely for the rest of the course.

EPR89: You might also like Superfly as well.
They're a blues, rock/pop, soul band.

Re: randomness
I have a hard time thinking of any music to post. :/
I thought of posting something by the band Kalafina, which was formed to do anime music and took off from there, but I found I only like the performances that remind me of the story of that anime. The music, performed on its own, doesn't really interest me. I'm guessing ballads and such wouldn't exactly fit the thread?
I'll post some Withing Temptation then...

You can really hear (and see, I guess) the impact old-school rock had on them.
And DAMN!
Shiho Ochi!
What a voice!
And what a range of styles.

Re: randomness
BRADIO is another group I've been listening to recently.
This years anime hasn't been that great. I haven't been really keeping up with anything but Aldnoah.Zero and Kantai Collection.
Aldnoah.Zero's first season pussies out in the end (revealing would be spoilers hardcore), but its still a good watch. The second season seems to be going strong so far. The show uses music to great effect.
Hiroyuki Sawano vocal's are wonderful.
I just like the action scene music that they use.
Kantai Collection is just fun and well animated.

Alright, let's have another look at what the guys in the Randomness thread are up to- Oh, how did I wind up in the music thread?
Cool tunes as usual though.
Incidentally, is anyone else having trouble connecting to the IRC currently? I think the server might be down.

Ah, I wasn't really clear- it's not obvious all the time, there's just certain rhetoric and writing styles that are flags for how a person is in real life, assuming they're writing "genuinely." For instance if someone wrote with really poor grammar and spelling, spammed emojis, and put things like LOL and HAHAHA in their posts, 99% of the time it'd be a little kid.Any way, if you want to play that game, make some guesses on me – I'll tell you if you got any of that right.
But okay, I'll guess for funsies. I'm going to say Endo is early 20s, either late in university or early in career. You're Finnish, so going by my experiences with Finns in real life, you're not a fan of casual social interaction with strangers.
In general your posts are pretty neutral, there's no well-defined qualities that stand out to me beyond "you're not an idiot."
Unrelated note, vaporizers are great. Goodbye nasty smells

Re: randomness
I could rant for hours about how bad I want the midi tracks in the actual game.
Have you heard of UFO: Cydonia's Fall?
No, you haven't.
Re: randomness
Not too shabby! However, it's not early 20s any more. I agree that I'm not an idiot, and the school/career part fits too.Ragdollmaster wrote:

Rename .cat to .raw, then extract with SoundForge.

X-com had great music, it's been converted to mp3s too if that's fine.
I don't think I have heard about Cydonia's Fall. Since you're interested in old X-com, you should check out Xenonauts, an Indie game that tried to keep mechanics similar to the old games.

That's amazing for me, it means that I can use it on my Steam music player.X-com had great music, it's been converted to mp3s too if that's fine.
Lemme rant about it.I don't think I have heard about Cydonia's Fall.
Cydonia's Fall was a carbon copy remake of the original, with new graphics and a soundtrack. It was cancelled in 2012 (Probably when Firaxis jacked the rights to the series) and no new news about it since.
It's soundtrack is amazing though, you can find it on the OpenXCOM mod site if you search, the tracks are amazing collectively.
I could rant a while about how Xenonauts isn't worth it if you're looking for a clone and it's better if you just get OpenXCOM and mod it straight to hell and back.Since you're interested in old X-com, you should check out Xenonauts, an Indie game that tried to keep mechanics similar to the old games.
