Re: randomness
I just realized that's a weird saying ...
Why would someone "hold their breath" in anticipation of something.
I wonder how that phrase originated

I suppose it's one of those things that's just never questioned, so people accept it and don't realise it doesn't really mean much.
Although I do kind of get the idea of someone holding their breath in anxiety of something...although maybe that's only because of the phrase as opposed to the explanation of it.

To be honest the entire government collapsing isn't just a simple name change.Renegade_Turner wrote:That's like saying if I changed my username to "Friendly_Turner" you wouldn't hate me so much.Assaultman67 wrote:Our enemy was the U.S.S.R. ... I was always told it meant if you held your breath waiting for it you'd never breath again.Assaultman67 wrote:I just realized that's a weird saying ...

Then again, my dad makes up a lot of things. (southern USA)

Re: randomness
Maybe, if it did it somehow became universally simplified ...
The fact that Ren used that saying is what peaks my interest in it ... it means that the saying is used both here and in the UK ...

Ireland is not part of the UK. I'm not sure why you thought that.

Re: randomness
You guys, I just remembered my dream from the other night!
I had a John beard!
I looked in a mirror, saw it and was like "Cool, but I don't remember growing that", so then I started walking up the stairs, then I was like "Wait a minute...I don't have a beard! This is a dream!" So then I focused all my energy on waking up, just to check it was a dream, then I woke up, but realised that the waking up was a dream, then I got woken up by my alarm clock, and was like "Woah! Wtf?!"
Just thought I'd let you guys know.
EDIT: Sorry if this is considered double posting, it's just, it's been 5 days since my other post was put up, so I thought it should be fine to post again, rather than just tacking this on to the end of an existing post.

Re: randomness
It happens very rarely for me, but when I do, it's usually the really frikken weird ones that I remember the best, either that, or the ones that I am reminded of by something at some point in the day...
