Re: randomness
Never EVER confuse tumblr and reddit again.
Reddit is awesome.
Tumblr is awesome too, but something completely different.

Re: randomness
'A member of these boards'? You're selling him short. He was a most notorious troll/thought-police combo who almost exclusively lurked the Randomness section. Inspired and antagonised many who posted at the time. He got more reasonable after a while, and I like to think that, on the whole, the targets of his, ah, attentions, more often than not deserved it.
I'd love to see him go toe to toe with our scampy lil' Phoenix here, actually. Should include sparks and mutual futility, I shouldn't wonder.
Oh, and Ren was also another Pratchett patron. Interesting to note.
EDIT:
I disagree, but well said anyway.

Re: randomness
Reddit is for pretty much anything, but from various sources. You don't follow accounts, you follow sub-reddits that work a bit like forums that specialize on certain topics, only that the stuff posted there doesn't have to be text.
The comment system is what really impresses me time and again. You can actually have conversations on reddit and understand who's talking to who. Much better than any forum I have ever seen. I mean, even on traditional forums like this one you can easily lose track of conversations if they go on for a while or include multpile people. Thanks to the layout on reddit, where every conversation is threaded separately, this simply can't happen there. And with the Reddit Enhancement Suite installed, the website becomes one of the best ones to use on the entire internet.
Do you have antything you are interested in? There is bound to be a subreddit for it. Sports, a particular sport, cheap games, free games, a particular game, writing prompts for you to have fun with, footage of cats being dragged around, GIFs that have been image stabilized to focus on a moving subject, the same thing but only with footage from porn (not gonna link that one because there's nasty shit on there)...... Really, anything you can think of, it's bound to have a community on reddit.

Re: randomness
Are short stories long those "choose your own adventure stories"? Because I always see those in Reddit! There's like this fictional argument, and you can pick either the adventure where the originator wins, or loses. Sometimes the writers all have the same idea and then all the choices are nearly identical, which kind of sucks, but still, it's an interesting storytelling experiment!rodeje25 wrote:Twitter: long story shorts

I don't think they've ever finished any of those adventures, or at least I haven't seen any published versions yet. And they're usually kinda slice-of-life, not very action-y.

Being hurt breeds feelings of hatred towards you attacker. But when we hurt others, we have to deal with their hatred for us, and our own feelings of guild. Knowing that pain allows people to become kind. Pain allows people to grow... how you grow is up to you.Phoenixwarrior141 wrote:

Most of us are being kept in fear.
9/11 wasn't done by terrorists but by america.
If you think it has been done by terrorist explain to me why there was nano-thermite in the wreck of both towers.
Only the american army has access to it.
Ohw and a building were they were researching a possible fraud of the american government has also been taken down.

Re: randomness
But what if all those things were false leads placed there by the chinese? Psychological warfare, placing mistrust in america, eventually causing people to overthrow the government!
Actually that plan might backfire on them if someone who knows what they're doing takes control and uses politimagic to turn the tables on the economy, thus making China property of Great Britain, as a thank-you gift for all the waterlogged tea.
I would like to clarify that all the above is a joke and that the moral of the story is that 'politimagician' is a really cool word I just made up that I definitely think should be used in everyday society to describe a person who somehow manages to remain both honest and successful.

Since I don't know whether Rodeje's message was serious or a joke whose context I don't get, and Glabbit's clarification also helped me understand his message, I've decided to come clean.
Re: randomness
Oh wait.
I knew that.
