Re: randomness
Two things related to games.
First, what the fuck, Konami. I was looking forward to MGS Rising, since it would've provided backstory for the gray area between MGS2 and MGS4, and the gameplay looked neat, but then this happened.
It's now a "spin-off" (non-canonical) that takes place chronologically after MGS4. It also looks like shit. On a brighter note, Kojima did confirm that there will be an MGS5. Yay.
Second, this looks awesome.

Another good game that looks kinda like that is "I Am Alive". Definitely having a look at that one.
EDIT: Just noticed that private messages are back! When the hell did that happen?

Within the last couple days I think. I missed that function; it was useful.

Agreed. Uncharted was great but I'm glad that Naughty Dog knew to end it with Uncharted 3 and move on. It's great to see developers actually working on original stuff instead of abusing cash cows.Zhukov wrote:The Last of Us looks interesting.
I look forward to seeing Naughty Dog flexing their developing muscles with something a bit meatier than Uncharted.
I'm definitely not looking at Treyarch/Infinity Ward right now, no sir.

I'm thinking more 343 studios, what with the "The Reclaimer Trilogy".

Re: randomness
...wow.
Anyways, wiped my hard drive and did a clean reinstall last night, love how everything's so fast again. I might make this a Christmas/New Year's tradition just to keep my computer streamlined and efficient
EASIEST WAY TO MAKE YOUR COMPUTER BETTER AND SOLVE PROBLEMS: BACK UP YOUR PORN AND NUKE EVERYTHING ELSE
I had to leave it on overnight to re-download my entire Steam library, though.

Depends on if it pays. That market seems pretty saturated. :/Korban3 wrote:So, are you going to go engineer the latest and greatest masochist sex contraption or what?
A ... mechanical ... engineering job?kehaar wrote:... Congratulations on your degree, Assaultman. What kind of jobs are you going to try for?
To be honest, I don't know. I set out in life to build shit. I've been wanting to become an engineer since the 3rd grade and had my hands into everything. All this time however I never put much thought into what I want to build. This is probably the first time for a very long time in which I don't have a specific long term goal I'm looking towards.
That being said, I've been applying for everything I'm even remotely qualified for, which turns out to be a pretty broad range. from companies that design and manufacture interceptor missiles to companies that produce lawn mowers.
Also, I've exercised more these past few weeks than I have in the past four years simply because I feel stressed out about not being stressed out and I have to exert some energy towards something other than randomly applying for jobs.
Even if I did know what I wanted to do, with the job market as it is, I honestly doubt I would get my dream job anyway.
So right now, it's pretty much apply for a ton of jobs, exercise, play skyrim, repeat.
On the bright side, I got a new suit for interviews! yay!
Re: randomness
Fancy, that.
Re: randomness
Sounds like fun. Hope someone hires you. I've heard of folks getting their degree in law or business and such only to end up on the streets with a cardboard sign saying "Degree in Business and Economics. Work needed." I bet that'd be frustrating. I know I'd be pissed.

Hey well if I ever come into a shit ton of money like through the mysterious deaths of most of my relatives than I'll totally bankroll you to design some contraptions for me.

Re: randomness
I am so close to doing that myself and I've only been out of school for a week and a half.
Not having anything long term goal is ... fucking stressful.
The closest I've come to landing a job was with some guy in NYC ... however I met him through Reddit and may have made a joking comment about being one step away from sucking cock for cash
Infact, I've been getting a lot of offers through Reddit after saying that
tl;dr in five years im gonna be in an alleyway of NYC sucking cock
