randomness
Re: randomness
I had to look up what Sound-Whoring meant (clearly I'm no hardcore FPS-Gamer), but after that I could do nothing but agree with you on that point.

Re: randomness
Sounds like a legit tactic to me.
I mean, in FPS you just have to be a bit adaptable to whatever tactics are being used. If you try to stick with the same tactics and they're not working, you're just being stupid.
If someone obviously has their headphones cranked all the way up. make loud noises or use misdirection with sounds.

One of his more recent videos has a link in the description to his t-shirt store, I personally was thinking about getting one of the "Fishing, russian style" shirts.Freshbite wrote:I didn't notice until now that he has a shirt that says "Professional Russian" in the Dragons Breath video... I want one.
It might have been his channel though, since I know I was looking at his channe properly the other day...

...okay. Because someone in the current conversation was implying that using sound in video games was an illegitimate tactic. Well done.Assaultman67 wrote:Sounds like a legit tactic to me.

On a completely different note: I don't know how many people follow American Idol. I usually don't watch it, but I've been watching it pretty readily this season, almost solely because of this guy:
He's got a really awesome range on his voice and great stage presence, I suggest trying to look up some of his older songs for the show if this performance appeals to you at all. What's also cool about James: He has Tourette syndrome and Asperger syndrome, yet despite suffering from the adverse effects of those disorders, he's been able to push this far in the competition. Pretty inspiring. He also apparently had a really rough childhood, with his dad dying at a relatively young age and him always standing out as 'different' because of his disorders, which garnered a lot of bullying and abuse for him. Even completely ignoring all of that, he's really quite a good singer, and he most definitely deserves to win this competition, on the basis of skill level alone.

Re: randomness
Hey Andy are you still playing Bad Company 2 or anything online? We should team up again and play more.
Re: randomness
Shit, I haven't played BC2 since January, and then I only decided to play through the Campaign (which admittedly was merely mediocre).
On another note, here's Vegan Black Metal Chef, showing you how to cook Pad Thai,
Black Metal style:
I think I wouldn't have anything against cooking vegan for dinner tonight.

Am I the only one who'd actually read a web-series full of this?

And another one:

Much win was had this day.

Re: randomness
I'm finding myself loving all of the trailers made by this guy, they're all really well-made. No dramatic editing, they're nothing more than a rearrangement of cutscenes set to new music, but shit, that's what almost every trailer is.
Recommend you watch it in 1080p on YouTube. Really enhances the graphics and audio.

Re: randomness
Did you know that the closest stars to Earth, other than the Sun obviously, Alpha Centauri A and B( which are a binary star system, which is a system of two stars that orbit around their common center of mass) is 256,608 AU( astronomical unit), each AU is 149,598,000 kilometers, from Earth! That is 3.97344256 X 10 to the 13 power kilometers!
And also if you flew at 60,000 kilometers an hour, 17 a second, it would take 80,000 years to travel from Earth to the Alpha Centauri System!
Damn, astronomy you awesome.

Re: randomness
Oh hypergiant stars, you so silly.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VY_Canis_Majoris
Largest known star. Flying in a passenger jet at the speed of sound, it would take you 1300 years to fly around the star's equator once.
Also, when these huge stars reach the end of their lifespan, they have rather interesting reactions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypernova
EDIT: Here's a nice tidbit.
EDIT2: This is the guy who coined the term "hypernova". Before his work, it simply referred to any explosion more than 100 times as powerful as a supernova (which is mentioned in the wiki link).

Ok, seriously. How the hell can this thing be legal? O_o
