GGJ 2014 this weekend

Post by Endoperez » Tue Jan 21, 2014 12:57 pm

Are any of you going to make games this weekend? Even better, are any others officially participating in the Global game jam? There's 100+ people doing it at my school. It's fun. :D

If you're only hearing about it for the first time now, well, it's an event that encourages people to come together for 48 hours, make crazy sleep-deprivation-derived games, and then publish them for free through the web interface offered by the organizing organization. It's too late to join the official event, but no one is stopping you from spending the weekend making games, so...

I'd love to, but I have drill this weekend. Two uniform inspections and a gear inspection :/

Yup. It's getting late, and it's many hours from the pizza, so people are getting a bit lethargic. I'll go wave a hello on the first camera. The one where a aluminum-foiled caped dude was visible a moment ago. :D

edit:

the discussions are getting a bit weird though. "see here, that hippie banana really hates the british imperialists, so that imperialist pear is going to get hurt if he starts talking politics with him... oh, there he goes. These two imperialist eggplants here now have some serious hate issues against hippie fruits, but they can blow off some steam by killing some hippies. the hippies are in a pretty bad situation already, but since they're so weak, a Great Hippie Fruit might be born soon. The Great Fruit and its disciples can convert other groups really fast, but the imperialists really hate the hippies now so they might just lynch the hippie prophet before it gets to do anything"

My game is now finished ^b^b^b I mean playable. That's all that matters, right? :D

It's a tiny tiny game, here's the browser version. It might drop off at some point if enough people try it out, since Dropbox has upload limits or something.

Yes. The theme was 'we don't See things as they are, but what we are.'

We probably should have put that in there somewhere in-game. :D

So it's a game about either doing a monkey-dance to stomp flowers and become large enough to walk up mountains, or simply doing the monkey-dance to climb the mountain without destroying flowers.

Yup. But it's, like, DEEP man!

+ doing it was fun and it was simple so I got to sleep, too.
