Nothing is inherently poetic.

1. If it's not a series of single notes, it's abrasive on the ears?
2. There is melody in metal music.

see, being poetic has nothing to do with the way you say it...look at goth poetry :?

also, there is a melody in metal....liten closer...and the guitars are actually figgin wicked in death metal

1: Correction: If it's music and has no melody, it's definitely abrasive on my ears, what with all the screaming and nothing harmonious or anything like that to make up for it.

2: Yeah, there may be melody in metal music, but it's hard to hear it over the noise of the supah dupah loude rhythm, and - of course - the screaming.

Also, as U479 would say: Consistency, consistency…

Kay, I may be thinking of some other form of death metal, but I have never heard a single friggin' wicked guitar in anything remotely metal-like.

In other news, I hope this will end up more of a debate, rather than more flaming… Meh, if that happens, I have this handy little button here…

All I need is rock when it comes to wicked guitar solos 'n' stuff. Mainly in the form of Queen music, which owns the entire Rock 'n' Roll genre as far as I'm concerned. Quite a lot of people on YouTube agree with me on this, too.

Also, could you please explain that first paragraph?

I just have to say that I am very picky about music.
I can't have average vocals or uninteresting riffs. Dat dun work.

It doesn't seem right to me for someone to be picky about music and like metal, IMO…

Oh well, I don't know enough about it, all I've seen is demented people in ape-suits screaming their heads off while violently assaulting their drums and guitars. :P

Indeed, Muse is amazing.

I have an experiment for you to try. Try posting something on YouTube that is so stupid that everyone realized you're being sarcastic. Hint: this is impossible.

Not to say that Queen isn't awesome, though.

What the heck is Ruch? Do you mean Rush? I've only heard Snakes & Arrows
and I was not impressed.

Anyway anyone like stuff like Neurosis, Isis etc?

BTW (more like note to future self) I predict that I will be dissapointed by the new Meshuggah album coming out later this year.

Screaming: Picture the voice as an instrument sounding a way that (hopefully) fits in with the other instruments, not as a person screaming.

I wanted to say something else but I can't put it into written language, sorry :(
