Horror Squad

Post by Colicedus » Sat Jul 21, 2007 4:27 am

Who has played Horror Squad?
Its a game i recommend, its a Strategy game that leans away from buildings pooping out people, and more towards Survival.

its Quite fun and Will probably keep me busy until L2 comes out.

its an Independent developers game, and is quite well done, although I am thinking of working on the graphics a bit...

it looks moddable.

I read the title and thought it was about Warhammer!

Looks good (apart from the mummies.). I'll download.

They just don't "look good", obviously. Man, humor is so lost on you.

Meh. Played. Boring.

*resists urge to rant about turn-based vs. real-time… and starcraft as well*

@ U479: I supose you killed the werewolf, and all its underling, and got the end game screen?

@BwS:Whats got you so pissed off BwS? Can you not stand Turned Based games?

@Invertin: I suppose you could mod the characters into space marines, and make the Werewolf look like a greater daemon of Khorn or something.

I said rant, raaaaaant. :P

Basically, neither is quite good enough. Everyone runs around the map fighting all hyper 'n' stuff in RTSes, and turn-based is a little slow.

RTS IMO is too fast, and is all about getting more men and using them before the other player uses his. Who clicked first.

TBS IMO can be slow, but allows time to think.

The best strategy game I have played was the Close combat games by Microsoft (this is the only real product Microsoft put out that I like).

Close combat: a Bridge too far, that was a game worth playing.

In that game I found That you did not have to simply Kill everyone to win, but take up defense and let them use up there ammunition, and Suppress them until they have nothing left to throw, and then get into the fire fight and simply force them to surrender or withdraw.

it was not Turned based, but has the battle style like 40k on the table top.

Nah. Got bored at turn 10, when all my characters were still alive and I'd pretty much cleared the level and yet it wasn't over, so I assumed there was one tiny spot I'd missed somewhere way back near the beginning of the level and was far too lazy to walk back there.

TBSes require you to think really really hard, you mean?

If RTSes weren't so speed-oriented they'd be a lot better.

Walking back to the beginning to take out one lone guy I missed is tedious, not challenging.

Ultimatum, can you please stay on topic even when we're not quite on topic as it is? Frankly, I don't care whether that little thing that happened to you is tedious or challenging, it has nothing to do with what I said.
