I guess they were making up for the impossible time system

Bomb Mask = infinite bombs. Chateau Romani = infinite magic, most broken item in all of Zelda.

I just found another game. It's Japan only but you can emulate it. It was on the N64 and was called Sin and Punishment. Can't remember the rest of the name, was in my head but it was in Japanese so...yeah. Voice acting's in English, though. Anyways, it's a shooting game, kinda like Starfox, except it's on the ground and better (my opinion).
So arcade shooting games that I know that every gamer should play:
Sin and Punishment
StarFox 64
DoDonPachi
Hotdog Storm
one of the games in the 1942 series (no, not Battlefield 1942, just 1942. Either ya know what it is or ya don't)
Time Crisis
Metal Slug
need more games

think of it this way. you have a choice to do this. you want it harder, never get them. really, your just choosing like, the easy mode on it, i choose hard cause your right, if i use them it makes things way to easy, so i go hard mode. you dont choose it on a screen you choose it yourself.

I have indeed heard of Sin and Punishment and I am hoping fervently that it comes out on Wii Virtual Console.

I doubt that. Mainly because it only came out in Japan and Nintendo's not nice enough to let us have it on the Wii anywhere else. Emulation is what I do for games like that.

I agree with a previous poster that HL2 deserves a spot on the list

one of the most atmospheric shooters I've played. Episode 1 was also a lot of fun, if a little short.
Best bits of Ep1:
-After going out into a dark area then going back into the light area to recharge your flashlight-
Alyx: *still in darkness* nnnuuuuuuurrrrrrrgggghhhhh... *steps into light* haha, gotcha!
and who could forget her Zombine joke xD

A thing I've always liked about Final Fantasy is that even people who suck at it can still play it fine just by levelling up enough. More advanced players can just play through the game without needing to stop to level up anywhere and just fight through what they need to.
meaning, yes FFXII sucks and is time consuming...
I see how what I said means it sucks. What I said means that people can play it to their own degree, and challenge themselves how they see fit.
Just because you're bad at the game doesn't make it bad.
I've never had a problem with it, and have never found it repetitive or boring.

I still say that 1-6 are the ones that should be on the list...
also, you guys want me to edit the OP so that it has a list of all the ones that we've agreed on?

Yes, please do. Also, it would be nice if when we listed a game we gave reasons as to why we should play these games...kind of make it a "best-of videogames" list.
I could help you organize by genre or console, if you like.

I will, but first, starting after this post, I want anywhere from 1-4 ideas for the list per post (just to keep post size small, the amount you actually contribute is not going to be limited) but, 1-4 games (or series) you think should be on the list per post and give good reason. Any posts without good reason won't be added unless someone can give a good reason. I won't judge the reasons, though, we all will. I'll start.
The Legend of Zelda Series (NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBC, N64, GBA, Gamecube, Wii) - This should be on the list because it was one the first RPG type game that Nintendo created on its own. It also made history and set some of the guidelines for the genre and over time, has added much to gaming history. Also one of the longest running game series, along with Mario and Final Fantasy
Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) - One of the first platformers to include adult humor and blood. This also added to its genre by proving that it doesn't have to look mature to be mature. I need better reasons...someone else help here.
Mario Brothers Games (all Nintendo consoles, including Virtual Boy) - Undoubtedly can be considered the longest running game series ever. Mario has done it all, from platformers, to RPGs, to sports, to even board games like Mario Party. In three games he was even paper! When you've been around as long as Mario has, you deserve a spot on the list. No other game series in history has evolved as much as Mario has and no other game character in history has done as much as Mario has. The end.
Game and Watch (either NES, SNES or both and Gameboy) - Due to Mario and Zelda, this is not very well known but, it was one of the first, if not the first game series that was just a bunch of mini-games put together into one package and still had the same character for all of them, Mr. Game and Watch. It deserves a spot on the list for starting that trend. It also probably died off because, it got mixed with Mario Bros and became Mario Party.
Alright, go through the last 6 pages and find games you really want there and give reason but at the same time, vote on the ideas others have.

Don't forget the actual Game and Watch games, which were really old LCD games. In fact, one Game and Watch design became the basis for the Nintendo DS:

The NES, SNES and Gameboy Game and Watch games were basically collections of G&W games, but the actual LCD games themselves could be worth lots now.
