Again, that's not what I meant. I meant that games can be whatever their developers want them to be (Who am I to judge?) but they shouldn't be somethings (Pedophile Simulator 2015... Wonder if that exists).

In my opinion, for a game to be "art" it has to transcend the title of game and be worthy of something more. That doesn't happen often, if ever.

Otherwise, it's a game with a point. And hopefully good gameplay to match.

They can be...
Yes
They are allowed to be...
Hell yes.
They should be...
Motherfucking yes.
AND
They are worthwhile to be...

Who are you to judge?

To say that Pedophile Simulator 2015 should not exist is to make a judgement. To say otherwise is to believe that, somehow, your statement, and opinions, are beyond discussion and have a special absoluteness to them. But that is not true, they are judgements, they are opinions.

And... you, do, have the right to judge.

Erm... Phoenix, you were defending Hatred which is as close to a murder simulator as it's possible to do ATM. Why are you the one who decides murder sim is ok but pedo sim is not?

Also something like that might exist in Japan. They have rather extreme porn games.

It does.

Anyways, pedo sim is wrong because it's a... pedo sim.

Seriously, even in Postal and Hatred you can't kill children. Anyone 18 or over is free game though.

Same applies to porn games.

The age of consent is anywhere between 13-18 in Japan. Age of marriage is 16 for girls, 18 for boys with parental consent.

It is interesting to compare murder to pedophilia. Which one is worse and why is one more acceptable than another? Is it because one crime is sexual in nature and the other isn't? I mean right now at this exact moment, pedophilia disgusts me more than murder would.

Saying 'X thing is wrong because it is X' is the same as saying 'I think X is wrong'.

It doesn't prove anything, it is just your opinion. Your opinion might be something others agree with, or not, but this tvread started because you thought opinions are so irrelevant they shouldn't even affect game reviews.

Because it's against children, were comparing sex against children to creative shooting against adults.

Yes, Hatred is nothing in comparison to Hotline Miami.

That doesn't prove anything, it is just your opinion.

If mere opinions are used to decide what to ban, GTA V would be banned everywhere where opinions are against it.

You can't spell ignorant without IGN. I don't know what to say for Polygon, but the same thing.

To be fair, IGN has been okay on this stuff so far.

I feel like this entire thread could've been avoided had this fairly unsurprising conclusion been uttered nearer the start, but I suppose people's will to argue is also the reason that IGN and Polygon and similar news-like info media are so "popular" in the first place.

I guess so, I agree with most of their ratings, but some things they say is total BS
