...

Oh gods. I must meet you then.

Heh. Well, do you know the Yakuza-style informal dialect? I make it my point to study that in the anime I watch. Mostly like how Zabuza talks, stretching the "nai" into "nee" and making random grunts.

How do you refer to yourself? I use "boku" in class, but otherwise use "ore". Just wondering if you chose the heightened-feminine form "atashi", or went down the tomboy path into "boku". If you refer to yourself as "ore", I swear I have to meet you. Will be the first time I've heard a girl in first person refer to herself in that ultra-masculine way, other than ONE anime. Ah, wait, or do you refer to yourself in third person? Hells, girls get so many options in their methods of speech. Mattaku.

You wouldn't happen to be a native speaker by any chance, would you?

...

Yeah. I gotta work on my 10-page term paper, of which is due tomorrow. Chikushou...

Yakuza-stlye informal dialect.. hehe :D

I don't think it's really considered a dialect, just ultra coloquial, rough and tough. I use ultra-exaggerated-informal masculine stuff like this when I'm joking around with Japanese-speaking friends (which is very often).

You know, I think that girl coloquial talk can be just as intimidating as masculine coloquial talk too...haha. :p

I refer to myself as "watashi" or "atashi," just because atashi comes out easier I guess. Occasionally with close friends I say boku. hehe.

I'm not a native speaker but I've been learning Japanese since 2nd grade by myself. I've been seeing a teacher (now good friend of mine) for the past two years though. :)

About that term paper, guddo rakku! (Sorry had to..)

By the twenty-one gods of Krynn and Astinus himself!
I bow down to you as a greater master of Japanese culture than myself!
...
You wouldn't also happen to be a ganguro, as well?

Anyways, burnin' discs for friends right now. Methinks I might be considered a distribution point for anime as of now. *sigh*

Ah, have you seen either "Adrenaline Drive" or "Shall We Dance?" ? We watched ‘em in class the first year, and they got a good reaction. Especially “Adrenaline Drive”, for some reason.

Hehe...NO! :D

I haven't seen Adrenaline Drive, I think I heard of it but I saw Shall We Dance? and I really found that funny. Naoto Takenaka is a great comedian. You should watch Tampopo. :)

Have, loved it, forced the Japanese class to watch it.
Although it's not Japanese (It's made in Taiwan), "Eat Drink Man Woman" is pretty good. Just saw it last night.

Hey, you watch any Mifune Toshiro movies?
Heh. I just happen to be named after him. My middle name is "Toshiro", although the meaning is different. For me, it's "Wise Man". I have yet to confirm that. *laughs*

Oh cool, Koji Yakusho is one of my favourite actors (the guy who was the gangster in the white suit). :)

These are the Toshiro Mifune films I've seen:
-High and Low
-Seven Samurai
-Rashomon
-Throne of Blood
-Shogun (TV series)
-Shinsengumi (he directed and starred in this)
and I think I saw Chushingura, but it may have been version that was not by Akira Kurosawa (that has Mifune in it).

And that's an awesome middle name. :)

Ah! You haven't seen "The Hidden Fortress"? That's a classic! Y'know, "Star Wars", or at least "A New Hope", is based on "The Hidden Fortress". You won't believe who I learned that from, I bet.

About my name- it gets better. I've got samurai blood to top it all off, so supposedly I can trace my lineage all the way to the Minamoto family. I am a son of the emperor! Heh. Technically, by feudal law, if a peasant bumps into me, I have the right to kill him.

Oh, and Rashomon. Good movie. Turned out that my freshman english teacher played the role of the bandit in a stage production of that tale. Scary, eh? Great guy, though.

Heh. Good movie. Go see it.

Eep! You changed your avatar to Kakashi-sensei!
I know someone who wants to go as him to Fanime Con. Not sure if we can get the Sharingan eye though. I found an expensive one here, but it's a bit over our budget: http://www.9mmsfx.com/lenses.html
Crazy good, though.

...

Almost makes you want to get 'em and wear them to class every day, doesn't it?

Oh were you thinking of the ladybug ones? Hehe
Edit: I didn't realize they had special ones for Sasuke and Kakashi below!
I guess if anyone wanted to be Neji they could get the Blind Eye ones..yeesh those ones are kinda freaky. Heehee.

Yeah, except you can't see out of them. They cover the pupil, so you really ARE blinded.

And we'll take lots and lots of pics. I promise that.
