Vista Konsole

Post by Makrond » Mon May 19, 2008 10:36 pm

Okay, so I was playing around with some Linux binaries, and I came across some code that seemed a little bit familiar. I looked a bit closer, and yes, there were some amazing similiarities between old Linux binaries, and Vista's new .exe format (if you don't understand that, try running the Vista Spider Solitaire on XP. It'll never work).

So, with a little bit of elbow grease, way too much spare time, and a lot of broken keyboards, this is my result:

Is it KDE's Konsole? How did you do that without KDE's resources then?

Has some interesting implications, actually.

Okay, this experiment's gone on long enough.

The truth is, I used two very fun commands contained within Windows cmd.exe: prompt (which changes the text you see in the window - default is the current directory path) and title (changes the text in the title bar).

Very fun if your school uses Windows and you want to mess with your teachers. Just remember to type "cls" after you've made all your changes.

You could actually launch Linux applications within Windows. See http://www.colinux.org/

Hehe... like WiNE, but backwards...

Oh, wait, it's a cooperative kernel. My bad.
