Re: Overgrowth Role Play
Inferti, more familiar with the layout of the place, led the way to the last of the rooms. Malek's sat down on a bed, and took some jerky from his pouch. He tossed a section of it to Wyit, and another to Inferti. "Venison." He said shortly. "From Ream, the last I have." Perhaps the last I ever will have. Malek thought. "It's been a long time since I tasted Ream venison." Wyit said. "Delicious." Inferti said. Malek grinned, and began chewing some of the jerky. "So how long do you think we'll have to wait around?" Malek asked. "Could be a while, but Master Opius is a prompt one, he'll tell us something soon, and if not, he'll give us a job to do while we wait." Inferti explained. "Likes to keep everyone busy, and in-shape." Malek said. Inferti nodded. "You don't like the prospect of war, do you, Malek?" Inferti said. "No..." Malek replied. "I admit, i rather enjoy conflict, but wars claim to many innocent lives, and i tend to avoid the death of innocence. But i'll stand with you and yours as my master stood with many like you long ago. You both seem every bit worthy of the trust i put in you, and i'm glad to have your backs."

Wyit smiled and bowed to . "i'm at your service Malek" he bowed to Inferti "as well as yours"
"glad to see that." said Malek. Wyit grinned and turned to Inferti "how would i get on the roof tops?"
"up that ladder on the balcony" Inferti pointed to a door to in the side of the room "all right, thanks." Wyit walked up to the door and pulled it open. he climbed up it and sat down to think. the grin all most disaperd at once. ahh damn.... Wyit thought is this going to be an all out war?
most likely... he sighed and walked along the side of the roof for a while. how in the world would we survive if Ream and all the other islands tried to wipe us off the map? "we need allies. but how would we get them?..." he muttered. well better head back. he thought
he turned around and started jogging back.

Re: Overgrowth Role Play
(Geographical RP fact- Lugaru is a part of an archipelago filled with many other smaller islands. The five main ones are Lugaru, Ream [a city AND an island... like Australia is a country and a continent], Myoko, Rashad, and the largest, Hitaki. There are about 3 dozen smaller islands in the archipelago, only half of which are populated with relatively low feral occupations. These are most commonly used during war as hiding spots for weapons, soldiers, high-ranking officials, or forts and civilian storage.)
Opius came into the room that Inferti and Malek were relaxing in. "War may start as soon as today. I've sent our fastest hawk messengers to contact anyone who could aide us in this battle; Myoko, Rashad, and Hitaki officials all agreed to band with the Lugaru Imperial force and the assassins. Ream, it seems, is the culprit behind all this trouble; the two hitmen heads are nothing more then pawns covertly wreaking havoc. But there is a problem. Ream has banded with one of the mainland countries, Creole. Their forces balance out this battle. Three of their five assassin clans are fighting with us, however." The whole temple and the city of Zebule ended up being transformed into a huge battle station prepared for war.
~Hours Later~
"Bulwarks, east side!" an assassin yelled from his perch on a battlement spire. Archers on the castle walls began hailing the huge anthropomorphic lizards moving towards the city with random fire; as soon as they came within a fourth of a mile, however, the arrow shots turned deadly accurate, and only a few of the Bulwark company survived to meet the foot soldiers. The Lugaru Imperial army was made up entirely of rabbits, who could produce soldiers naturally very fast. They were agile and strong, as well as decently cunning. One lizard leaped high into the air and was stabbed through the heart with a pike that penetrated through his scales; the rest were quickly dispatched as well. "This fight..." Opius said, watching from his room. "It'll happen again. Hundreds of times. And then there will be even bigger battles... whole island forces attacking each other in one time period." He shook his head. "Then, it truly is war."

Re: Overgrowth Role Play
(I find it ironic that i was thinking of making my character a Komodo Dragon, but then decided to stay inside the mammal territory, and now we are fighting reptiles... XD)
The three companions had watched the small skirmish along with Opius from the rooftops. Malek felt queasy, not from the height, but from the knowledge he had gained only moments before. "Ream..." He said quietly. "This is a deep-running conspiracy, and my former master must have been in on it." Malek was slightly pale, and the red tint in his eyes had completely gone, leaving the sad green. "How could this have happened?" Malek clenched his fists. "Ream has long been known for its just martial law and teaching of the arts." "Many of the masters of Ream have roots in the underworlds of the greater islands. It would be in there best interests to strengthen those roots by establishing a global hold on all combative organizations." Opius said. "If they succeed in this war, they will likely gain control over all the assassin clans, and have a large amount of leverage against small hitmen agencies. stronger still would be there hold on trade and transport." Inferti said. "So i left Ream, searching for an adventure, and now Ream has become the advocate of the adventure. all too different from what i had hoped for..." Malek said. "You may be of great help here," Opius said "You can infiltrate Ream." Malek raised an eyebrow. "You are an alumni of their martial school. You could easily return acting as though you wished to stand with them." "And i could vouch for you." Malek said looking at Inferti and Wyit. "What do you think, Inferti?" Opius asked.

Ogier awakes and begins hiking along through the mountains, at about midday as he stops under a stunted tree near a semi frozen stream he looks down into the shadow of the mountains, and in the precipice below, spies what is evidently a small war party marching towards a trail which obviously leads over the mountain to the town he had left just a few short days ago. recalling a near empty fortress he had seen while leaving the town it occurred to him that it would be a rather strategic spot and though he could care less what strategic position which side had and which people got killed by who, it also occurred to him, that they would be in his way, and naturally would try and fight him. so he came up with a plan.

Boi, you break into mah fort, imma git ya O=<

"Obviously, it'd be dangerous." Inferti said with a grimace. "If you feel up to it, though, it would be a great strategic advantage to the Allied Imperial forces." Malek sighed as he looked down at the dead reptillian forms; they were all killed with just one strike each, and none of the assassins were harmed. "Perhaps... I'd have to think about it." Opius shifted his eyes to Inferti. "Maybe you would feel safer with my apprentice at your side... have you still got it in you to penetrate a war fortress, Inferti?" he asked. "I've had it in me for a while, Master Opius. Would I lead a squad (three assassin), or would this be a solo mission?" he replied. "A little of both. I would like to send a dozen assassins with different missions- you could each take out high-ranking members. No doubt I would send you, and probably additional assassins from allied clans- maybe the Myoko." Malek coughed and Wyit turned away as Inferti shuffled his feet sheepishly. "Yes... about that... two of their now allied hitmen, Robert and Johanne, well, Robert was attempted killed by the Myoko." Opius' eyes were at Inferti like arrows. "And... you stopped it?" Inferti nodded. "One killed, two badly injured, and one in perfect health." Inferti told the whole story. "I see..." Opius said at the end. "I will have to retrieve them and send word to the Myoko." He whistled three times in short bursts, and three peregrine falcons came down. (By the way, birds and the like are anthropomorphic; that's why they are used as messengers, and they'll be used in war to get over defenses and the like. Not too good of a fighter race, due to lacking arms, but their natural talons can be deadly when they swoop in low and fast.) "Go to the outskirt town Utapi, near Damas. Look inside the bar for three of the Myoko." They nodded and shot off immediately, accelerating to speeds over 100mph. "They will hopefully reach them before any of the townspeople have down anything rash. At best, they will be in jail." Inferti said. "Well, with that soon cleared up, it looks as though we are ready to begin formally planning our tactical offensive." Opius said heading inside.

Re: Overgrowth Role Play
Malek thought about the voyage he had undergone to reach Lugaru, just so that he could become an enemy of his homeland. He shook his head, his homeland had become corrupt, and was meddling in dangerous affairs. "The ship that brought me here," Malek looked to Opius. "the captain said they would be resupplying for the journey to Rashad, then back to Ream. It's unlikely they've acquired adequate supplies by this time, we may be able to take the same ship back to Ream. should we choose to go." He finished. "Let us first convene a tactical council, take into account the course of action you have brought in to converse, then choose the course to take." Opius said. "I shall call the council, you may return to your quarters, i'll send for you when its time." Opius walked off. "War is hell..." Wyit said. "Aye, and there've been to many of them." Malek said. "War is sometimes necessary," Inferti said. "It keep upstart conquests like the one Ream is planning from succeeding." Malek nodded, but didn't reply. "There wouldn't happen to be an herbology lab in this place, would there Inferti?" Inferti nodded.
~a few minutes later~
"There's a good stock of every kind of plant known here." Inferti said. "Use what you like." Inferti said, then left Malek in the large, plant-lined room. I need to make more Orange Tseng. Some Purple Yin, and Florikta would be nice as well... Malek moved through the rows of plants selecting varying amounts of leaves and stems, sometimes buds and flowers from certain ones. He carried the ingredients to a long counter on the side wall of the room. He selected a crucible and began grinding some of the herbs together. When all the ingredients had been ground up, he added three drops of water, and one drop of sap. he stirred it vigorously then let it sit, while he gathered more herbs. This time he used a small knife to cut the herbs into small pieces, then he crushed them with the flat of the blade. he poured the crushed and cut herbs into another crucible and proceeded to reduce them to powder. he added a drop of lemon juice and let the mixture sit, while yet again he gathered more herbs. This time, the herbs were mixed and added to the first crucible, the contents of which turned a dark purple and took on a jelly-like composure. Malek mixed this thoroughly, until all the crucible contained was pure purple jelly. He selected a glass phial that was about as big as his fist, then tipped the crucible into it, careful not to spill any of the purple jelly. he scrapped the last of it out and into the phial, then rinsed the crucible well, along with its utensil. He placed a cork in the phial, then pocketed the Purple Yin. By this time the contents of the other crucible had dried and hardened. he crushed it back into powder, then poured it into the pouch that contained the rest of his Orange Tseng. Now for the Florika, and i should prepare the antidote to the Purple Yin. Malek gathered a handful of herbs, and this time, boiled them in a small pot at the counter. when they had lost all their pigmentation, Malek removed them. the water they had been in now held a sickly green tint. he poured this into another phial, corked it, and placed it in his pocket. Now the antidote... Malek knew it was only wise to keep the antidote to your own poisons close at hand. again he walked through the aisles of plants, this time collecting only a few ingredients. he diced them, crushed them in a crucible, then added a droplet of sap. as the sap began to harden, Malek mixed the herbs then packed them into 5 tiny pill shapes. a few minutes later and they had hardened into the pill shape, and Malek collected them, cleaned the tools he had used, wiped off the counter, and left the room. Minutes later he was back in the High Quarters with Wyit and Inferti.

Re: Overgrowth Role Play
Representatives for the assassin divisions were roaming in the high quarters. "Inferti, who are all these guys?" Malek asked. "Different classes of assassin. The greater majority are balanced out, while some prefer direct combat and penetration, others take on the role of light stealth infiltration. Those guys over there," he said nodding at a group of masked assassins with chemicals in front of them, "are Alchemist assassins. They prepare chemical mixtures to aide in battle. These vary over a wide range- some are lethal poison injected by small cuts; some, when mixed properly and used, could create explosions large enough to fell a fortress; others can corrode through metal and most natural materials within seconds. They rely largely on their biological weapons, as well- they can use specialized ammo and weapons in accordance with vials of deadly infectious disease. Just one small vial of an epidemic worthy disease could knock out an enemy army without any fighting." "Those guys over there are Shinobi. They've taken after the arts of the stealth assassin in the Deep East known as 'ninja'. They prefer to avoid combat, even though they have a wide arsenal of skills, and stick to infiltration." "So, out of these millions of assassin, how many are as powerful as you?" Wyit asked Inferti. "There is more then one way to measure power... I'm simply multifaceted. I could pull off a Shinobi or Alchemist's job any day, even though I'm pretty talented in direct combat." He sighed as he pulled himself up. Outside, Imperial Forces were already arriving and helping convert the fort to a battle mode. Inferti had been selected as one of those who would go off to the front line, and Opius requested Malek and Wyit to go with him- they both had agreed.
...................----------=====~{Time Warp : To the battlefront!}~=====----------..................
"NOW! Fire the phosphorus bombardment!" the command went out. A volley of arrows that blotted out the sky shot up from the Allies' side, flying over to the Corruption soldiers half a mile away. They hit the ground and exploded with their volatile ingredients quickly mixing and lighting to fire, wiping out the front ranks of the advancing army. "We need heavy rushers!" The Imperial commander yelled. A formation began to spring to life at the front of the Allies ranks, made up of extremely large mammals like elephants, rhinos, and, very fear-inspiring, the mighty whales that towered above the battle-field. "This is insane!" Malek cursed as he waited with the rest of the foot soldiers for the command to rush. "Full-scale war within a few hours!" Wyit agreed in shock. Inferti nodded. "Their forces were caught in their 'surprise' advance pretty early, they had to try and salvage those foot soldiers by sending in more forces. Too bad all these Corruption soldiers are going to die anyways." (And yeah, the 'bad guys' are now called Corruption forces =o) "Fire hurlers directly ahead!" A front line soldiers yelled; an extremely large trebuchet (catapult) loaded with fuel was suddenly ignited and hurled high into the sky where it gathered speed and came down like a meteor shower on the Allied forces, who reacted quickly by creating a metal roof with large kite shields designed to absorb impact. Meanwhile, pandemonium was happening on the skirmish line where all of the allied heavy rushers were still alive and wreaking havoc. The archers and catapults turned to fire at the biggest whales and elephants tramping through the crowd with their bare hands and hurling them to their deaths. "NOW! RUSH IN BETWEEN THE HEAVIES!" A commander yelled as all the spear wielders formed a moving wall of death and advanced through the ranks, pushing back the Corruption more and more. "Now, Alchemists! Release your corrosion toxins!" Birds suddenly swooped down on the Corruption from seemingly thin air, letting loose the dangerous chemicals onto the ranks, burning through metal, fur, and flesh. Some of the bigger birds of prey like the eagles were swooping down and picking up soldiers whole and hurling them, or knocking their heads off with powerful talons. "Now the close combat soldiers, go!" the commander yelled. Inferti rushed along with Malek and Wyit, and hundreds of others wielding swords, axes, bludgeons, and short spears. More Alchemists set up their phosphorus arrows onto crossbows and moved up where they could fire and hit faster. The battle was an overwhelming success as many of the Corruption turned and fled- right into a fire trap. Many trees suddenly fell, the ropes that had held them tight the whole battle cut away, and the few soldiers who weren't crushed outright were stuck in between them. As more and more fell, carefully calculated by the intelligence forces of the Allies, they formed a sudden prison that none of the Corruption could escape from- it was a few hundred feet wide in diameter. Fire arrows hit the wooden prison, aided by chemicals from the alchemists, and soon nothing remained of the Corruption force then a few stragglers who were able to escape. There were a few dozen dead on the side of the allies. "We caught them off guard, don't get too cocky now!" The commander yelled. "But... you still did good. Be proud of yourselves and preform like this in future battles, and the fate of the war will already be decided."

Malek stood in the middle of the battlefield, scanning the area for his comrades. He saw Inferti several hundred feet away pulling weapons away from their dead masters. Wyit was somewhere else, Malek couldn't find him, but he was sure to be fine. He glanced at his sword, covered in blood and bits of flesh. He drew a small rag from his pocket, and began wiping the blood away. He looked around, seeing many bodies, and many more coin purses. "This is how the common soldier makes a living, eh?" He muttered. "By robbing the bodies of his enemies..." He grunted as he poured the contents of a couple purses into his own. He picked up a few weapons, finding none of them to be equal in craftsmanship to his own. He glanced at the face of a dead soldier then realized it wasn't a soldier, nor was it dead. "Inferti!" Malek yelled. Inferti was there in seconds. "This one's far from dead, and what's worse, i know him." Inferti looked at the seemingly dead liger. "He looks pretty damn dead, if you ask me." Inferti said. The liger's hand shot toward Inferti's ankle, But Malek's sword came down on the hand pinning it to a dead lizard. "Hazufer, why so far from Ream?" Malek asked. The injured liger growled low, then tried to move, relieving a heavy injury to the thy. "I could ask you the same Malek!" Hazufer panted. Malek twisted the sword. "Why are you here, Hazufer?" Hazufer cried out in a low roar at the pain from the twist. "I heard you were on Lugaru, outside of Ream, without the protection of your esteemed master." the liger said, very condescendingly. Malek's sword had entered the liger's hand between the middle, and ring finger, and in the middle of the hand. Malek has twisted it slightly, but now he twisted it as far as perpendicular to the bones. Hazufer Shrieked. "F*ck you, Malek!" he said. Inferti had been quietly observing this whole time, but now he intervened. "Who is this, Malek? What is he to you?" Hazufer made to swing his other arm around at Malek, but Inferti, quick as ever pierced the ligers shoulder, and twisted his blade, paralyzing the arm. "He's an old rival, someone who wasn't chosen by my master on Ream to study the arts, instead he became a mercenary, a poor one at that. He's held a grudge against me ever since i entered Reams Martial School without him. Tried to kill me on many occasions." Malek said. Hazufer lounged at Malek with his teeth this time. Malek stepped back, wrenched the sword out of the ligers hand, wound it back, and let it slide forward in a fluid motion. "Die." Malek said. The blade slid under Hazufer's throat, and the razor sharp blade made no sound as it passed through the flesh. Malek pulled back, twisted around, and elbowed Hazufer in the face. As the impact of the blow reverberated though the liger's skull, the spine broke at the neck, and the head fell back, connected to the body only by a thin layer of flesh on the other side of the spine. "And i just cleaned the blade too..." Malek said drawing the cloth and re-cleaning the sword's blade. Malek and Inferti walked off, in search of Wyit.

Re: Overgrowth Role Play
Yeah, I kind of skipped a lot of the formalities to get to this point. Now then- we are currently on Lugaru, it's about a week later from when we were at the assassin temple. The Corruption forces landed approximately four days ago and overran many of the smaller villages and cities, but because of the information we recovered earlier, the Allies were able to plow ahead with an unsuspected counterattack. As a result, they are pushing the Corruption forces further and further back. (Time to get a map of Lugaru so I can show what I mean...)
EDIT: Hokai. Ze battle map.

Pink Circle = The landing base of the Corruption. The small island has been completely taken by their forces.
Pink Square = The assassin temple, designated the main stronghold for the Allies.
Red Circles = Battalions of Corruption forces.
Red Squares = Battalions of Allied forces.
Yellow Squares = Naval Allied forces.
Yellow Circles = Naval Corruption forces.
Green Squares = Incoming reinforcements for the Allies.
Blue Star = The site of the just-fought battle.
"Well," Inferti said, "The offensive plan for the Allies involves moving forward fast. We have every single major battle planned out so we can cut through the ranks of the Corruption quickly to end this siege on Lugaru, so we can control the seas and the land. Our skirmish line is designed to counter all the Corruption forces almost simultaneously. Our naval forces are working to surround them so that their only way out is back the way they came from, which isn't very helpful for them because they'll get ambushed along the way." Malek whistled. "Your assassin intelligence groups sure do work fast, eh?"
