Make it illegal to put up any news for the sake of causing controversy. All news must be researched before it is put up unless it's from a reliable source.

This would stop all sorts of problems.

No, you're missing the point, little buddy. Censorship is nonsensical. I support no form of censorship. Politically incorrect for the win.

You see, you missed the fact that what I was saying was ironic. When I said "Shouldn't they be censoring the news too?" I wasn't being sincere. I was making the point that censoring things because of someone unrelated's actions is illogical. Down with censorship.

Seriously man, that would only cause more problems than it solves. It would also be tyrannical in nature to enforce something like that. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're saying. Seriously though, if reporters had to research things before making claims then they wouldn't have the freedom to speak their mind. They're not all bad. If they weren't allowed to, Veronica Guerin would never have stood up to John Halligan. In the end she died, but her death was what sparked the soiution to the drug cartels. She didn't change things, but she sparked the people who did change things. Free speech in the media always needs to be protected.

Eh. Fair enough.

How about some kind of disclaimer- NOT EVERYTHING ON THIS SHOW IS RIGHT. DON'T MINDLESSLY BELIEVE EVERYTHING THE LIGHTBOX TELLS YOU.

Maybe during the adbreak. Some clip of Barry Scott or someone with a loud voice just shouting that at us.

Uh, just like there are labels on everything else?

McDonald's coffee:
Caution: contents may be hot.

A scooter:
Caution: product moves when used.

A news program:
Caution: This show is meant for entertainment, actually it's to make money for us, so we'll put a spin on nearly all the stories if it helps us make money.

Really, there is no such thing as the media giving it to you strait.

(to mai fan fic peepz)
Busy right now, I might get another entry done over spring break.

Is it that hard for everyone to just accept that the news isn't perfect and never will be? It has flaws but is still good at informing the public, and that's what they are going to listen to, they won't stop anytime soon.

The News is effective at updating disasters and informing current problems.
and lets face it, humans are so greedy they put others lives at risk to make a mint. given half a chance, do you save some one you never met or kill him for some green?

When Law is lawless and only the strong survive, would that be the same answer?
And dont you think its the same for a person in any industry? If dooping the world meant you could feed your family, and maybe live comfortably, are you gonna pass it up?

You just watch them die and then scavenge their body for goods.

Not true. I've had some freinds tell me a chain of volcanos went off in the phillipines and no news program covered it. At all.
and informing current problems.
Define problems. Even "Problems" is slanted to the trend of the newscast.

Just read Amusing Ourselves to Death. I won't go into specifics, but the point is the median of communication changes the meaning.
