typically when you're in an avalanche yeah it doesn't mean you're casually watching from the side or outrunning it or something, it means you are "in" the avalanche.

Yeah, duh, every time I'm trapped in an avalanche I'm taking notes of the earth's gravitational pull on the objects around me.
