Re: Instrumental
They became popular in Ireland first...that's where they used to busk and perform. =D
These guys are a really cool instrumental Irish band, saw them about two weeks ago in the local alternative/indie venue and they were honestly the finest live rock performers I've ever seen:

Re: Instrumental
Lol loads of people I know and myself listen to Victor Wooten. Moreso Bela Fleck And The Flecktones because that stuff is better.
The reason for guitar being everywhere is clearly since it is the most popular instrument. That's kind of pointless anyway considering the main guy in the last band I showed is actually the bassist.

Oh well, I guess you really can get excited about my comment but it's just sarcasm.
Show of hands just came to my mind... for me Richard Bona is quite the more enjoyable Bass-Player/songwriter but I love em both.
I learned about some fresh music thanks to this topic and I have nothing against guitar-players. In fact I need them for making awesome music, so bring em!!!
To Music!
My Drummer showed this to me the other day and it's amazing! Please enjoy, Sven Kacirek and the Kenya Sessions.

I quite like this.
Re: Instrumental
Vitamin String Quartet is awesome. I first heard of them when someone was looking for "badass violins". They do covers of pop and rock songs with the string quartet instruments: two violins, viola and cello.

Man Andy, I liked "And So I Watch You From Afar", awesome song.
I've been playing Persona 3 Portable again, so I thought I'd post some of the instrumentals that caught my attention.
I love the piano in this one.

Clitn Mansell is always good, I feel kinda like lux aeterna made people less aware of his other work.

Wow. Yeah, Mansell is one of the better known "epic" composers, though I feel like a lot of people just look at his stuff from Requiem For A Dream- good in its own right, but limited compared to his other works.

I'm seeing these guys at Electric Picnic festival in September. My fellow natives. They're pretty fucking awesome. It's so uncalculated and awesome.
