No, if you look at the bottom of the Board Index page, you'll see that the forum is hosted by phpBB, a free forum-hosting site. The actual site, www.wolfire.com, along with the blog and the games page, is a paid-for domain, and THAT is owned by David and Jeff

The administrators have the ability to 'close' the forum anyways.

You can lock the forum, and you can delete the contents, but you can't delete the actual forum. That's what I've been saying =/

Yay for off-topicness!
Re: Ummm... Huh?
We actually host forums.wolfire.com. The software is phpBB, the server is ours.Ragdollmaster wrote:No, if you look at the bottom of the Board Index page, you'll see that the forum is hosted by phpBB, a free forum-hosting site. Re: Ummm... Huh?
Ok, so lets get this straight.
PHPBB is the software that you used to make the forums, but you host it yourself using your own computer etc.
www.Wolfire.com is owned by you, and hosted by you correct? Which would mean that if the computer that you had it on crashed and burned, the entire site would be down. Right?

Re: Ummm... Huh?
What's a "live"?
Re: Ummm... Huh?
'to live' is a verb.
'life' is a noun.
'lives' is a plural of this noun.
I have no idea what 'a live' is, though.

The entire domain wolfire.com and all subdomains (forums.wolfire.com, etc.) are owned by us.Sandurz wrote:Ok, so lets get this straight.

We host the blog and forums on a rented server in a colocation facility. Google hosts the main site on a lot of computers around the world via App Engine.
