+5 on all that! Your tactics and skills might not be as good as they could be, but you did try.Endoperez wrote:
I tried getting to sleep, but just reading about this made it impossible. Reading about it happening that close (even though Finland isn't even that close) is really shocking and little scary, and you went through it. And while you went through it, you didn't just sit on that skinny ass. You tried something, and the trying is impressive even if you didn't have the tools. I don't know what I'd have done. I don't know if I could have done anything. What you feel after doesn't matter nearly as much as what you did then, be proud.
I guess you're still shocked; talk to people, get your cuts treated, write down what they looked like and everything else you can remember. Tell the police even if you don't think it will help. Don't do anything drastic until you've had time to think things over. You don't know them, so they won't know you. All the good to you.
As for tactics, avoidance is definitely the best bet for a weak defender, but there are some steps to equalize a fight against a stronger opponent that even little skinny types like us can use if there's no way to run... kicking the guy once and then letting him get back up, with his friends surrounding you, probably wasn't optimal.
You've all probably seen this, but it does carry some really good advice for weaker defenders.
Also, it shows some of what a real defensive fight looks like-- not fancy, athletic long-range, high-skill stuff like movies and video games, but short, viscious, relentless, maximum damage combos that anyone could pull off with a minimum of training-- so it's even appropriate for Overgrowth.
