Touch developer.
Re: Touch developer.
The upgrade is only about $30 dollars if I just buy the disk. I also need a USB CD drive because my sister got her Naruto DVD permanently jammed in the drive. I have enough for Snow Leopard now, because I just got payed for mowing my neighbors lawn, and early birthday money. Now I just need to make another $40 Dollars for the USB. Well I can be the secret services bitch boy for a couple of days. Minimum wage sucks.

Re: Touch developer.
Are you sure it's permanently jammed in there? Have you tried everything? What model Mac do you have?
Also, that teacher of yours sounds rather pretentious. I'm going to go to the Apple page to see why on earth you'd need Snow Leopard for a class. I don't understand why a specific version of an operating system would be necessary for a class. And if he's going to make you have it, he could at least do the favour of distributing it to his students for free.

That would be illegal. They can't give out an operating system for free unless it's Linux.
And to be quite honest I don't know why we'd need it for a class either. I'm probably just going to drop the class, it just makes things easier, plus I don't have to spend money on things I don't need.
I have the old mac book. As for the CD drive, yeah it's permanently in there, she was holding my laptop open and she dropped it. I've tried everything that won't void my warranty and still nothing.

Re: Touch developer.
I'm thinking he meant more of a the teacher provides the OS at no cost to the students, rather than the teacher doesn't pay for the operating system and just passes it out to all the students, the difference being that the teacher in the first one would either have used his/her's or school funds to buy multiple copies of the os which would then be given to the students.

Re: Touch developer.
Yeah, Count Roland's got the idea.
I read over everything on Apple's website about Snow Leopard. I'm 99% positive that there's no reason it should be required for a class. It's not very different from Leopard. What kind of class is it?

A programming class. I sent an email to him last night saying I was just going to drop the class.
Count Rolands idea won't work because if he buys to operating system with school money it's licensed to the school meaning he can't give it to us.
And with that this topic must die.

Re: Touch developer.
Sorry, I'm no help, but:
You're probably past the tutorial point, but did you run across any good Xcode tutorials if you ever looked at any? If so, could you please link them?
That would be awesome, as I am trying to work with the SDK right now, and I'm naturally struggling with it. I've been getting my feet wet with Dahscode, though. Templates. Lol for me.
Thanks!

I just have 3 questions:shadow717 wrote:We need to get Snow leopard because my teacher said we did. He didn't tell us why, he just said we needed it. In retrospect that same teacher told us to get a $500 dollar calculator for school that we didn't use at all. I'm more tempted to sell that on ebay. That would probably cover the price of snow leapord, plus it would be easier.
What is snow leopard
What are you studying?
Where do you study?

It´s a tribute to him, besides, he was teaching me the path of the awesome screenshot guy he was (and making my own skins and things like that).shadow717 wrote:Snow leopord is the new verion of the mac operating system.cachiporrin wrote: I just have 3 questions:
