The new good music thread
I'm going to start off with:
1. Jesse Leach's, ex-vocalist for Killswitch Engage, new band, The Empire Shall Fall.

2. A good progressive rock band, Porcupine Tree.

Porcupine Tree's greatest song is Heart Attack In A Layby. Horribly tragic and sorrowful lyrics.

Pretty awesome metalcore. It's kind of weird though. Every one of their songs are about different ways that they killed the prom queen (hence the name). xD
Also just found this:

what a badass cover

Re: The new good music thread
Hey look I just got into Muse again, haha.
Haven't been listening to screamo as much lately, but I'll throw this out here cause I saw these guys a few weeks ago. Greatest concert I've been too, was in the front row for almost all the bands, and I even caught a drumstick at the end.
Emarosa - Heads or Tails, Real or Not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-MVXShDR7s
These guys were the best band though
Fear and Faith - Gangster's Paradise Cover (video made me lol a bit, weird)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgImQ2v2NYs
Neither of those are as hardcore as the other guys like I Killed the Prom Queen, but I prefer it like this.
And to be different, I like this song the more I hear it.
DJ Signify/Buck 65 - Winter's Going http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwYEaHxoJ-U
Wish I could find a better version, but that's the only one I can find of it that's not instrumental.

It pretty much baffles me how you'd imply that Emarosa is a screamo band. None of their songs on their album have screams. At all. Good choice of song though. =Pnerodx wrote:Haven't been listening to screamo as much lately, but I'll throw this out here cause I saw these guys a few weeks ago. In Fear And Faith is pretty fucking awesome. That's not the ideal song to display their talents, though.nerodx wrote:These guys were the best band though

This song is pretty apt.
*** In Fear And Faith - The Taste Of Regret
In saying that you saw Emarosa and In Fear And Faith at the same show, am I to assume you also saw Broadway, I See Stars, Our Last Night and Burday Of A Day? Because I fucking love every single one of those bands.
*** Broadway - Meg Ryan Would Play You In The Movie
*** Burden Of A Day - Remember
*** I See Stars - Project WakeUp
*** Our Last Night - Escape
Broadway, I See Stars and Our Last Night all released their debut albums in 2009, 2009 and 2008 respectively, all of the albums are pretty good. Broadway was my favourite of the 3, although at first the songs on the album sound like pretty generic scene post-hardcore drivel. After a few listens I realised there was some pretty fantastic songs on there. Also, the band is really funny live from what I've seen from different live videos.
Burden Of A Day's newest album OneOneThousand features a new vocalist named Kyle. Their old singer Kendall Knepp left for personal reasons. However, their third and latest album is fantastic. Other choice tracks from the album in addition to the song "Remember" that I already posted above are:
*** Burden Of A Day - The Mason
*** Burden Of A Day - OneOneThousand
Until you mentioned it I didn't even know there was a new album. I checked out their MySpace though. "Changing" is pretty cool. I still don't think Saosin are as good a band since the Translating The Name EP.Renegayed_Turner wrote:Anyone heard the new Saosin album? It's great.

Re: The new good music thread
Lol yeah I couldn't really think of another genre to name them by, anywho yeah that was the show I went to. And I LOVE that song by Fear and Faith, but I went with Gangsters Paradise cause I remember that one definitely being in their set because the kid next to me wouldn't stop yelling at them to play it. They didn't play Taste of Regret unfortunately.
As for the other bands too be honest I didn't like Broadway too much live. They sounded alright but I think since they were the first band the crowd wasn't getting too much into it, everyone was just standing there when they played, no clapping or anything. Burden of a Day was pretty damn awesome though, and I'm wearing their shirt right now, lol. I See Stars was pretty great, they were actually the reason that we went mostly. They were pretty fun between songs too. I might end up seeing them again in a few weeks actually, they're going to be with A Day to Remember and Parkway Drive, and I've been wanting to see ADTR since I missed their concert in the spring. Hope that works out though, the place I'm looking to see them at apparently doesn't exist, lol. Anyway, Our Last Night were the best musically in my opinion, but in between their songs was boring and they didn't seem as fun as the other bands.

The album is amazing, worth a purchase for sure. I listened to saosin back when they had anthony green, and I honestly like cove a lot better. I know a ton of people liked the old saosin, but i'm content with the new.

Cove's alright. I don't think he's as good as Anthony. I think they picked Cove because he sounds like Anthony. lol.
Saosin - Voices (Live Acoustic)
This live acoustic shows that he is really a good singer though. Well, actually, this video tells me two things really.
1. Cove Reber is actually a good vocalist.
2. Pink shirt? Yes. Pink tie? Sure. Pink wifebeater? Please god no.
And Nerod, I don't think bands having a good rapport with the crowd is that important really. I'd rather the band didn't talk to the crowd whatsoever but kicked ass, rather than a band that had a really good sense of humour and all that but completely sucked.

*** The-Dream - Rockin' That Thang
The-Dream is actually amazing. People should acquire both of his albums, Love Hate from 2007 and Love Vs. Money from 2009. There's not a single bad track on either album. He's pretty much the current king of R'n'B. No one better.
