This is the only place in your post where my views differ from yours. The only thing albums I want will do to me is increase my total bytes downloaded, and possibly cause me to reach my ISP's download cap. I don't have the money to be buying all the music I crave, there's too much music and I always need a new fix!
I used to "acquire" music, but once I upgraded to better audio equipment (Grado SR325is, Sennheiser HD595, ASUS Xonar STX) the audiophile in me refused to listen to anything but FLACs...and unfortunately, they're often rather difficult to "acquire". I also became obsessed with the idea that ripping is a form of archiving your music in a digital form, and that ripping anything but pristine FLACs "tainted" the quality of the archive.
PLUS, I've noticed that when I pirate music I simply listen to a few songs off the album and if a song doesn't grab me by 1/3 in, I will skip it. With CDs, because I paid for it, I'm much much more inclined to listen to the entire album, and do so multiple times to really get to know the album. And that alone is worth paying the money to me.

Ahh, you see this presents another dilemma. Are you only forcing yourself to listen to the album multiple times because you paid money for it and therefore feel like you would be wasting your money if you don't force yourself to listen to it? It's more like an obligation to listen to the album rather than an actual will to listen to it?
Don't get me wrong, there are regularly albums which I don't bother listening to half or any or much of the songs on. However, that's the point. Downloading the albums gives you the freedom to find out which albums you enjoy. There's many albums I've downloaded that I've listened to multiple times. Emarosa's debut album, Dance Gavin Dance's Downtown Battle Mountain, Akissforjersey's Victims, and Enter Shikari's Common Dreads.
Also, if I love an album enough, I buy it. I downloaded Common Dreads. A month later, I bought it. I live by the philosophy that if the album isn't deemed by me as good enough to buy it, it didn't deserve my money in the first place.

About as close as you can get to perfection in music. Best listened to in a dark room, with just enough light to read the lyrics (while reading along).
And on the subject of purchasing music: I am a subscriber to the "If it's worth listening to, it's worth paying for" notion. I will download music for free if it is presented by the creator as such, but otherwise, I purchase CD's (and, on rare occasions, paid downloads. I reserve this option for instances when purchasing the music on physical media would cost upwards of $50-100).

Well, my last one was taken from this album cover:
I decided it was time for a change, and this one (the band's next album) just lended itself nicely to being bearded

This band served as a precursor to the band Pelican, featuring three future members, but those familiar with the latter will note a significant change of style, most notably the dropping of vocals from the mix and a much more aggressive overall sound.

Haha, dude, if I recall correctly, you're the guy in the middle of the profile picture, and you look like Tomas Rosicky:
Or is that not you?
Anyway, the tunes sound cool. I Can See Russia From My Porch sounds like a reference to Sarah Palin being a fucking retard.

Nah, I'm the one on the far left. Those pictures look so gay. Lol.
And yes, it is a reference to Sarah Palin.
It's so damn hard remembering to bold and change the font color...
