Download Blocker
Download Blocker
So, my parents are being assholes, and won't let me download anything. So, they've put up the old child blocks, and turned on the "download nothing, ever" option. They also won't let me install anything, including Firefox addons. Does anyone know any possible way of bypassing it without knowing the password?
Re: Download Blocker
Hmmm, you could be a kind boy already...
Seriousely, for install anything, or, program who need administrator access, or install authorization.
What is from the ""download nothing, ever" option." ? (Antiviru, parental control ?)

Re: Download Blocker
It all depends on how it's blocking things. What program is it?
Re: Download Blocker
It's Vista's own child blocks.
I just want to be able to download, and use setup and .exe files.

Re: Download Blocker
This isn't looking good for you then, unfortunately. If you have access to an administrator account, you're good. You can simply disable it in the control panel. Otherwise, you'd have to crack the admin password with ophcrack or something similar, and then use it to disable it in the control panel from there.
With ophcrack, though, if you can't download anything, try using a school computer/library computer and download the cd image file to a flash drive, and then burn it to a cd at home.

Re: Download Blocker
I might have to use a library computer then, seeing as our schools IT department is really good. I've googled that much, but I was hoping that I could find some file that had the pass in there, as some Mac and Linux files do.
Thanks though. I'll definitely have to "study up" on that ophcrack.
Update: I figured out the password. I loled when I figured it out. "Mybaby"

I'm going to laugh even more when Sandurz gets in trouble for downloading stuff when his parents told him he couldn't. He's just digging his own grave. This is great.

hahah I was busy looking for this link something to do with being able to make a new account and give it admin privileges through command prompt, pretty useful but I can't remember it or find it, not that it matters now.

Re: Download Blocker
I'm pretty sure that exploit was patched in Vista. In older versions of XP you could use the commands:Count Roland wrote:hahah I was busy looking for this link something to do with being able to make a new account and give it admin privileges through command prompt, pretty useful but I can't remember it or find it, not that it matters now.
Code: Select all

Yea, leave the password on and the download blocker up and just type the password in when you need it ...Sandurz wrote:I might have to use a library computer then, seeing as our schools IT department is really good.
