It's not how many years you've been drawing, but how many hours... I've started drawing about 3 years ago. I've never managed to draw daily, or regularly, or more than few hours per week for any length of time. So, yeah.Froyok wrote:Hey thanks !
@zoidberg rules : it's the work and work, I draw since 8 years ago...
I'm Self-taught.
For the moment, 1 or 2 hours, but with a movie under my eyes, so I was not very concentrated. I draw less now, I try to back to the drawing. I had not drawn for 3 months. Otherwise, at first, I always drew the weekend, approximately 3 or 4 hours. I drew in the week also, during my school courses.Endoperez wrote:It's not how many years you've been drawing, but how many hours... I've started drawing about 3 years ago. Hmm... I had studied many of mangas in fact, because it is one or several characters are the best animated, the best put in movement I find. I does not read comics (american comic), thus I would not know how to advise you a comics strip drawn in particular. Concerning the bases of drawings, it is of the analysis and the understanding by myself, I did not study with a book. Just many deductions. As I also make of the 3d and the level design (half-life 2 for example), I have a good vision of the space and the perspective.Endoperez wrote:I'm also mostly self-taught, but my father helped a lot, especially in the beginning, and this autumn I've learned painting and related arts in an evening class. Do you happen to have any favourite books? Betty Edwards' Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain helped me to understand what drawing is really about (looking at things as shapes and negative spaces etc etc), and Andrew Loomis' books are awesome, although I only have electronic copies of the latter.

I read Otoyomegatari, and the other series the artist has drawn, after I saw this page:Froyok wrote:Hmm... It's very well drawn, one of the most amazing things I've seen yet.I also found videos showing how she draws them. I have never seen someone spend so much time on a drawing, draw so many complex details...
