Video Editing
Video Editing
So any of you know of any good (free) video editing software? I've researched it, but I want some input from people who have practical experience. Any suggestions?
Re: Video Editing
It depends.
Do you have a Mac or a Windows PC?
I don't do Mac's.

Re: Video Editing
It all depends on what you want to do. If it's just taking video clips and putting them beside each other, adding some sound and taking it out, that's doable. Even Blender can do that. It will be just Windows Movie Maker stuff, but good enough for e.g. putting Overgrowth stuff up on youtube.
If you want the advanced stuff, I don't know of anything 100% free. You could go for a 30-day trial of one of the commercial apps to see what they're like. If you want to pick it up for real, there are also affordable (50$ and up) video editing software.

Re: Video Editing
You're basically screwed in this department. There are literally no free alternatives for video editing that are actually good (iMovie and Windows Movie Maker aren't exactly top notch). There are a few trials, but other than that you're better off just buying software.
Re: Video Editing
You could download Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 trial for free.
Then replace one file and voila, unlimitied access.
I don't know if that's very legal, but that's how I did it.
*EDIT*
I recently saw a video posted by NixiePixel on Youtube, showing you how to get a free, open source video editing program for your computer, called KDEnlive.

Re: Video Editing
I know of only 2 100% free video editing programs, movie maker and Videospin from pinnacle. I only movie maker has allot more editing options then videospin. But videospin is good if all you're doing is cutting and pasting video clips, and if movie maker is not working.... which it tends to do allot. But if want something decent you will have to pay a bit of cash. Sony Vegas is good and not that expensive.
Re: Video Editing
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I tried out a few, and the only one that I really liked was videospin. Thanks Guns, you helped a lot.
Also Freshbite, thanks for linking her Youtube, I love her tech videos.

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU USING AN APOSTROPHE?
Re: Video Editing
Given the context, "I don't do Mac's video editing software" would seem logical, and it's probably true too!

Re: Video Editing
He just meant plural the "Macs". People use apostrophes the separate the "s" from whatever noun they're using to distinguish between the two. Unfortunately, this is misguided/doesn't make sense here. If we were talking about many lower case i's, it does:Endoperez wrote:Given the context, "I don't do Mac's video editing software" would seem logical, and it's probably true too!
They circumscribed many i's around my asshole in an imaginative attempt to make my asshole into a visual representation of an acapella group, where the i's represented the ebb and flow, in graphical form, of the rate of contribution of a certain elderly man in the group.

English isn't my native language so a few grammar errors while I'm typing is not exactly that big of a deal.
Instead of raging like a fucking 14 year old, explain to me what I did wrong and suggest a way to correct it instead.
Geez.
*EDIT*
Btw, If this is some "PC vs Mac" kind of argument...
I have a Mac myself, I just don't use it, but I have nothing against them.
