I think we should list the starters on the first post as well.

I'm not enough of a linguistic to explain how this work exactly, but you get the general idea: consonants are fixed (except for things like Ds and Ts which sound similar), and vowels can be altered.
I don't see why the 'ck' and 'g' should be any different from 'dl' and 'ttl', for my ears it is close enough. Especially when the vowels stay the same there should be no problem with the 'rhyme'.
So I will continue with clock.

Because ATTLE is nearly pronounced as ADDLE and thus works with EETLE.
Rhyming is not (necessarily) the goal of the game.

Wilbefast explained how the game works in this post. (...and it should probably be in the original post aswell)

And Wil, you can edit the "Wolfire / Blog (?)" in the original post about this sixth match to just "Blog" since it has been officially changed to it.

'Battle' has a sharp sound from the t's, while the d's in 'paddle' are softer(at least the way I pronounce it). That's why I thought it would be the same with sharp k and soft g. If you can tell me where the difference lies, I will believe you.
I know it is not about rhyming, but more about a kind of tongue breaker from many phonetically similar words.

The difference is that BATTLE can be pronounced as BADDLE, but CLOCK cannot be pronounced as CLOGG. (Unless you have a potato in your mouth :])

To make it really simple, let all the words you add end with "..OG".

Spoiler alert:

DOG..
LOG..
FOG..
JOG..
COG..
HOG..

...are all fine examples.

By the way, the hexadecimal color #EAEAEA is great for hiding things in quote blocks, and easy to remember too. (sadly... )

Ok fine, I'll stay with 'g'. Still think it is much more interesting, if you use both voiced(g) and voiceless(k) forms of the consonant.

While we are at it. Wil, there are two mistakes in the OP, the caption for the possum-one is the same as the silver-one and Assaultman should be Starter and not winner (yet :))
A week is a nice round number - easy to calculate when it's over :P All in favour? I've fixed the OP - thanks for pointing that out.

I am not really motivated. My persistency more comes from boredom or procrastination (heavily).

Well, maybe this game has outlived itself.
