Just Cause 2

Epic freaking game. I got the demo two days ago, after waiting like, two years since it was announced. It, unlike many other games I had built up hype for, it actually fucking delivered on everything. Oh, and this is the only game i've seen where you get fall damage from water! It's different depending of how you hit the surface too, if you're sprawled it will do more damage than if you're in a dive. Fall from too far up and you will die if you hit the water, so its not a safe zone anymore

Video of Korean-tying shenanigans I made on my second playthrough of the demo.

Also, for anyone who is interested, for the pc version there is a way to remove the demo boundaries. Its a hex edit, just needs you to change one value

Download Hex workshop here http://www.bpsoft.com/downloads/
Install, File>Open the game executable from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2 demo\JustCause2.exe

Edit>GoTo

Type: 03F206D

Change the value 75 to EB

Save, start the game

The trailer actually looks pretty epic. So you're some kind of paratrooper spy?

Admittedly, it looks badass.

Also, that hex thing unlocks the full game, doesn't it? =P

who was that guy that got killed in the video? the one with the rope? the player or just an enemy?

@Sandurz: I honestly don't know yet. The demo didn't tell much. I think he's a mercenary

@Blorx: No, the hex thing just takes away the demo boundaries that are around you in a 35 mile radius, although if you go far enough outside the boundaries, the terrain disappears. They didn't include any close-up terrain for most of the map in the demo. I just found the stupid "You have ten seconds to get within the demo boundaries or we respawn you at the start" thing extremely annoying, so i changed the value.

@cachiporrin: the dude was just an enemy. I was in the helicopter.

If only the dev was stupid enough to include the entire game with the demo. :(

Just curious, what program did you use? I've poked around a few programs that'll decompile .exe's and catch internet packets. Never got into heavily using them though.

Did you find the hex using that? Or did you get the hex info online and just change it with that program?

I found the hex using some other program. don't remember the name. It's on my other computer. Some other people have done the same thing though. The right hex value isn't hard to find; the devs labeled pretty much everything.

Sexy awesome fun fact: the tutorial I posted was written by some dude on another forum, i didnt feel like writing my own.

Ah. If you remember the name of one that's also good, it'd be great to know.

I'll get back to you on that once I'm able to get to my other computer.

played the demo too
story was shit, but gameplay was too stupid not to be fun
(btw if you want a plane then there's one to the right - seen from starting position- of colonel Lee Sen -or something like that-'s house
and there's also a fucked up supercar that has two machineguns on the roof-at the end of the north-east going longroad)
have fun

yesterday I attached a motorcycle to the transport chopper and flew upwards for about 2 or 3 minutes, then I detached it and jumped out, thus spending half a minute to grapple onto my motorcycle in the air falling with immense speed...... That pretty much describes Just Cause2
oh and I did grapple onto my motorbike and landed almost right next to some explosive barrels

edit: the mutant supercar doesn't always have the machineguns attached to it, if it doesn't then try coming back to it -after being half a mile away- again and again
I promise you wont be disappointed

Just get Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It's epic.

I'm also playing Final Fantasy XIII, which I bought yesterday. I got it a day early because the release date was broken! I walked in and they were just putting it on the shelves. Muahahahaha.

I wasn't expecting it to actually be this good, I was just getting it because it's Final Fantasy. Although I did quite like XII. But not X. Or IX.

Anyway, combat system kicks ass. Sorry to derail your thread, but I just wanted to say how much better FFXIII and BC2 are.
