There's plenty of Low-poly stuff on turbosquid.com... you could try that!

I don't see the point in buying the models... they're too generic to be useful... and modeling is incredible fun!

If they're free, then that's great, but you'll never be able to release a good game by using generic models. The artistic style won't match, for one, but also it's usually easy to see when the game designer didn't put much work into the models.

It's much better to befriend a 3d artist and pay them a small amount for models that you have a hand in the design of.

You'd have to be a pretty damn close friend to get me making a game's worth of models for "a small mount"!

These would be good for placeholders in a game, and some might fit well enough to stay in the final too. Not everyone has the money at the concept phase, or friends willing to try the indie dev crash course.

This seems like a spammer to me.

That's what I thought as well, but I didn't bother to do anything since it looked like it might go in an interesting direction.
Also, no one reported the post. I tend to only dive into things if there's a report filed, or if it's blatantly obvious as I'm reading the few threads I bother to read.

Not really ... i made models for a guy in germany i never met ... for about two years ...

but then again its the "our game" mentality that is key rather than "his game"

Is this... a bot that comes back to throw simple comments in the original thread? When did AIs get this clever?!
