Using Google Chrome
Hey guys.
I just started using Google Chrome and there are some doubts I have.
I know google knows about every site I visit. Can I turn off this option?
I want to change the language of Google Chrome, how can I do it so it stops saying "this website is written in english, do you want to translate it?"
EDIT: Ok I just changed the language but I found another thing I don't like. Everytime I open a new tab, the websites I previously visited show up, can I disable that?

Re: Using Google Chrome
there's no point trying to hide it from us, press Ctrl+H, that opens your history in another tab, then just delete all the...umm...sites *cough*, that you dont want to appear in your history
EDIT: dont bother worrying about google knowing what you look at, just dont visit any illegal sites
ANOTHER EDIT: when you open your browser, press Ctrl+Shift+N, this will open an "incognito" window, sites entered will not pop up in your search suggestions or history, and google will not be watching

Re: Using Google Chrome
ehmmm, I understand what you mean, but I'm afraid you are totally wrong. I'm not trying to hide that kind of websites because I don't really visit that kind of websites. I just don't like that feature and I find it pretty creepy that google knows about every site I visit
And, what kind of illegal websites do you mean? I'm not hacking a bank's database or something like that

What's this? Citizen, why are you worried about Friend Computer seeing you. That right there is your probelm! You did the right thing asking help from the Friend Computer. To fix this matter, you just have to report to the closest suicide booth. Immediately.
P.S. Are you perhaps a mutant or a communist, or a mutant communist traitor? If so, you should report immediately to the closest suicide booth for further termination. Immediately.
P.P.S. If you don't have no idea what I'm talking about, your Security Clearance is too low and you are not allowed to to follow this link.

Google Chrome starts every time I start my computer

Re: Using Google Chrome
That's odd, because it shouldn't.
Have you perhaps put a shortcut in Autostart or something similiar?
There isn't even an option for that in Chrome, so it shouldn't be possible unless you autostart a shortcut when booting.

As Freshbite said, I'd either check for an autostart shortcut, or if nothing else, do a virus scan. Chrome is a browser. It shouldn't be starting on startup.
Well, then there's always the off-chance that you've set Chrome as your default browser, have an instant messaging program that opens on startup, and the IM program is opening Chrome.

This is why I dislike Google.
Everything is so damned confusing.
I'll just stick with my pal Firefox.

Re: Using Google Chrome
I used to use Trend Micro Antivirus and it worked wonders, and should have a free 30 day trial with no limitations available that will do the trick for what you want.cachiporrin wrote: Ok, I'm going to do a virus scan.

Re: Using Google Chrome
I might try that, but isn't there a GOOD free antivirus that can keep me safe after the trial days?
