...really old posts are bumped? I don't mean just because it's annoying and a dead topic. I mean because you get a look at yourself 2...3...4 years ago, and go "Wow, what an idiot I was." Quite similar to what I'm sure Armored_Wolf will be feeling soon enough...but with yourself, instead.

Yeah, I just fell across all my failed fan-game attempts for Lugaru from...what...4 years ago? Yeah...just saying...not the greatest of memories.

i fully agree, what would be the point of making a new thread and clogging up the boards if you can just post in something that is already there, even if it is from a while ago. and if you dont like the fact that you might have to trudge through a few old posts that you might not find that interesting, you are obviously an extremely lazy person.

I think it depends on the content of the thread, and the content of the post that bumped it back up to the top page.

For example, if we had a thread with "Happy New Year 2006" somewhere in here, and someone bumped it with "Bamf!" or "Happy New Year!" during the middle of summer 2010, I'd be inclined to invoke David's spray of holy water to turn the undead post.
Opposite that, if someone were to update the "Drugs and Alcohol" thread we had going a few months back with relevant arguments, or if we had a "World News on Nanotechnology" thread that was bumped with new developments, it'd be entirely justified and preferred.
