Yeah... no. Not looking forward to this. Game to movie adaptions suck until proven otherwise.

The Mass Effect games, bar a few glaring flaws, are good games. However, that does not automatically qualify them to be good movie material. If you strip away all the actual game elements you're just going to end up with a generic spacey action alien-fest that has its lips firmly wrapped around Star Trek's penis.

Besides, call me petty but it would feel weird seeing a Commander Shepherd who isn't a somewhat-ugly-dark-skinned-female-Vanguard-who-is-too-nice-for-her-own-good-and-has-a-penchant-for-shotguns-and-the-colour-blue.

I mean, sure, I'll watch it, but more out of morbid curiosity then anything else.

My Captain Shepard looked fairly normal from the front, if not a bit gaunt. But if he turned his head, you'd notice that he had really long fish lips, a horse face, and his eye sockets were about an inch out from his face. I think that's the most fun I had with the game, the character editor, everything else bored me.

My Shepard looked Mongolian by accident but I couldn't be bothered to fix it so I kept it and now I cannot hear that voice coming out of any other face.

As for the film, they should make it about... I dunno... Saren or something. Or Anderson. Not Shepard. Any character that their face and personality is set in stone, not Shepard.

If Shepard shows up at all, they should be too blurry to see properly, fully armoured, and never say anything. And thus only serve as a minor cameo for the fanboys to gush over.

You know what? They should cancel this movie. Screw it. Start again from scratch, and make it using CGI. And then upload it to XBOX live, and allow people to upload their Shepard into it.

That is literally the only way I can watch a Mass Effect film starring Shepard without it being extremely jarring.

That would be a good idea, but I have like, 8 Shepards, 4th play through of both of them...

Oh, and I have no Microsoft points, so I wouldn't be able to buy the film either, plus the money-grubbing whores who run Microsoft have recently changed the XBL system so that you hae to be a gold member, which I'm not, and you have to download zune...

Mass Effect bored the fuck out of me, but I eventually finished it just because I wanted to play Mass Effect 2, which was much more satisfactory.

Yeah, it's a bit odd...there are games like Leisure Suit Larry that have been getting by for over two decades (two...right?) just fine without (news-worthy) criticism...and now they're raining down hard on Mass Effect and God of War.

You want "racy" and "adult" anybody else hear of the "hot coffee" mod for San Andreas, the disturbing part is, it was in the games coding, just locked out, so you just had to edit like 1 file, then there you are, fully interactive sex minigame!

The stupid thing is that they upped the rating because of a game feature that you have to mod the game to use.

Which is sort of like rating Sims 2 "M" because somebody modded in nakedness.
