Trap the cat
Re: Trap the cat
I used to play this when we went to the computer lab in my English class (HAHA! why would I do work?) after like my 50th try I finally beat it once.
At that point I made the very wise decision of "Maybe, just one more…"

FARK YOU CAT

GOT YA!
Took me about 10 tries, that little bugger.

The cat game was quite simple, but I have played a little Go so I had a feeling for the "trapping". It's not possible on all levels, though.
If you want to feel frustrated, try the Solitaire or Memory Card games in the same place:
The memory cards game - you have 16 cards, flipping a pair takes about one second, and you have to take less than 20 seconds total. It gets down to luck, really.

And this one here is EVIL. It's NOT the solitaire you're thinking of! 8 piles instead of 7, no deck to flip through, and you can can have a stack of [3][8][7][6][5] and put it over a stack of [7][6][5][4]. Horrible game, several good tries were ruined with only a couple of cards left unturned...

Re: Trap the cat
Cool game ... started winning about 1/3 of the time once I understood the concept after about 10 or so games ...
But it seems very luck based ... if you don't have points around the cat that just happen to be inline you can't establish a hexagon fence around it and it will escape.
If you can get the corners of the fence up (the further from the cat the better) then its simply a matter of guiding the cat around that hexagon by maintaining that "step ahead"
so yea ... the first few moves is the most important it seems
That being said, if the game were hexagon shaped and a much larger area, it would probably be more obvious to people and they could trap the cat 100% of the time with no dots to start with ...
(hmm, ive become better now ... about 2/3 of the time I win ... revised my strategy to getting the cat)
