Anyone else been watching this one? Apparently it runs on Unity, and will be free for everyone by means of playing in a browser when it's released (hoping for a desktop client, even if it costs). Mac and PC only (sorry Linux guys :( ).

Anyways, it's a top-down parody of games like Duke Nukem and the only thing I'm hoping for it right now is that it doesn't end up feeling like a shameless ripoff of other dual-stick style shooters.

It does help a bit that Jon St. John, the original Duke Nukem, is voicing John Dudebro though.

So it's a top-down parody of sidescroller shooters? Isn't that a bit weird?

Eh, your point? So, the devs chose a different medium. It still attracted enough attention to get the original Duke Nukem voice actor!

Oh, it seems like it's a parody of games where people are violently killed for unexistent plot, instead of the old 2D shooters.

Also, according to them it's more like the Duke Nukem voice actor attracted attention to them, not the other way round. But I'm more interested in the forum than the game. I mean, a forum where members just decide to make a game, get 100 people doing stuff for it, and one of them somehow got in contact with a professional voice actor? That sounds nice.

Ah, I must have read wrong then. Yeah, it is a bit of an odd situation, though.

I'm a NeoGAF member. There's lots of industry people there, and some of them are amused by the idea of Dudebro. That probably is one of the reasons why JSJ is on board. Some guy met him at an industry event and straight-out asked him or something.
